Melo. He's more likely to land you another big star next year (ie King James). I think he'll be cheaper too (I think the buyout happens). Might even be able to keep Ryno and his super deep 3 point shooting. I think Chicago will buyout Wade too. I think it would be great to lure him to Houston, but I think his loyalty lies with LeBron. Another aspect is that Melo WANTS to be here. A mellow Melo would be awesome. I think Kevin Love brings a jaded attitude for being dumped by the Cavs. Melo's Rebirth > Jaded Love
Wasn't Love a crucial piece in Cleveland beating Golden State two years ago? How soon we forget. And inline Anderson, Love can actually score inside the arc. Im not says no I would prefer Love over Melo but some people here think that ending up with Love if Melo chooses Cleveland would be the worst thing in the world. It would be a sogbfocant upgrade at the 4 spot.
Ariza=Green? In what world? You know Durant is better than Melo yet they're equal? How does that work? Durant is the 2nd best player in the league.
Ya I know KD is better. I was basing that off mostly on offensive ability. I know KD can score like a monster but Melo is kinda the only FA who can score at will like KD. Melo will also probably thrive with CP3 & harden also
Well with his trade clause, the possibility of being bought out, and us being 1 of the only 2 places he wants to go, I kinda see him as a FA to us lol
It's all about who will help us pass GSW. Kevin Love already proved he is not the answer on Draymond Green. But maybe no one is.
Maybe because it's not about who is better player overall but who will help more in playoffs. Melo brings something that cannot be measured by stats. He will be third engine of this team, Kevin Love is better wheel. Third engine will be necessary against GSW ... and the chemistry with CP3. I believe KL is better player but anyway I voted on Melo because of those reasons.
Come on guys! I can't believe that many people are still going crazy for Melo. Let's compare our two choices shall we? - Kevin Love (28 years old) vs. Melo (33 years old) - Kevin Love (6'10) vs. Melo (6'8) - Kevin Love (1 ring) vs. Melo (a big donut) - Kevin Love is a proven winner (and NBA All Star) who led his team to the Finals three years in a row. Huge contributions on rebounds and scoring in the playoffs and Finals and has proven that he can co-exist with two superstars. Melo, on the other hand, has decent stats on a super terrible team. - Love is in his prime right now while Melo is winding down on his career - Both are not GREAT defensive players but Love has developed average defensive capabilities with the Cavs. He knows everything there is on how to defend the Warriors having played them so many times in the Finals. I think if we have a choice, I'd take Kevin Love in a heartbeat over Melo. He fits our system better (can stretch the D with his 3-point shooting or bang down low), taller, younger, in his prime, and battle tested against the Warriors.
Hmmm... NY Diva or Scola face-stomper? Tough call. Never cared much for Melo - the guy destroyed UT in the tourney back in the day and has snubbed the Rockets at least twice - still, he's clutch and was arguably one of the best scorers in the association not too long ago. OTOH, Scola face-stomper is a rich man's Anderson and I don't think there's any denying RYNO's impact on offensive spacing, minus all the baggage that Melo would bring. One of the most intriguing things is the potential to (eventually) lure the rest of the banana boat crew to Htown should we land Melo... not to mention the potential for CLE to lure CP3 away from us next season should they land Melo instead. At the end of the day, I think Love is the best fit for this team and the style they want to play, but Melo brings so much more in terms of ceiling and attracting other players. Regardless, if your biggest problem is choosing between Melo or Love, then that's a good problem to have.
Melo's knees are shot, and Love provides that rebounding and 3pt shooting, this should not be this close. DD
I'd prefer to keep EGo and Ryno for their floor-spacing benefits. If we gotta lose 'em, Love would give us floor-spacing and rebounding-- and those outlet passes he learned from his namesake.
Is there even a rumor that links Love to Houston? Or serious rumors, that he is on the trading block and could be had for basically Peanuts? Because we sure don't have much too offer. But yeah, Love would be my pick as well!
