**ignores deplorable label** Both Doc and Codman have teased Millsap today. I really really really want there to be truth to this. It doesn't seem like we've been linked to him in any way, but OKC wasn't linked to PG, nor were we linked to PJ. Please, Lord.
Like any religion, you have your zealots, your optimists, your pessimists and your deniers. When it comes to the word of Doc, I'm an optimist. I miss him. He was my secret source long before I actually registered with this board but would lurk. I think when it comes to any insider you just have to realize they aren't first hand knowledge, likely not even second or third. If they are comfortable sharing what they know, even if it's coded, by the time they inform the public the deals could have changed. Codman is a great example. He throws out a lot of names, it's not Pokemon and we aren't going to get them all but its a good list. Next thing you know reporters are reporting on interest in, for example, CJ Miles. What if we don't end up with CJ, should we lynch Codman? Obviously not. It sucks how things went down with Doc. I wish he would have ignored the haters, something cyber excels at. At least we can follow him on twitter though! Thanks Doc, if you still follow these boards, thank you.
Carmelo will make $26,243,760 Ryan will make $19,578,455 for a difference of $6,665,305 Hypothetical straight swap does not work. 'Melo also has a $8.1M trade kicker If Carmelo is traded before June 30, his 15 percent trade kicker ($8.1 million) can be spread out evenly between the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons. Under the rules of the current collective bargaining agreement, Anthony can waive only a portion of his trade kicker that would make a potential deal work under the salary cap (more on that below). If he's traded after July 1, Anthony can waive the entire no-trade clause. If he is traded before July 1 and wants to collect the entire trade kicker, it is spread out over two seasons. If he is traded after July 1, the entire trade kicker is allocated for 2017-18. However, if Anthony agrees in writing to become a free agent in 2019, thereby eliminating his player option that season, the trade kicker can be spread over the 2018-19 season as well. Why does this matter? The trade kicker is added to Anthony's annual salary in trade scenarios, so it affects how much salary teams will need to send out in any Anthony trade (more on that below.) If Carmelo is traded after July 1 and doesn't amend his early-termination option, his incoming salary with the full 15 percent trade-kicker would increase to $34,369,545. That's a significant portion of the salary cap to commit to the 33-year-old 10-time All-Star. One more thing worth noting: If the Knicks and Anthony agree on a trade after July 1, more teams will have the cap space to potentially absorb part or all of Anthony's 2017-18 salary.
We were linked to PJ. There was a thread about PJ before we signed him. We were just waiting for Iggy to make a move. We had Iggy-PJ-Dumpert lined up in that order.
Correct, we have a 6 mil in those guys to make up the difference. Rockets can make it work. Will have to part with some draft picks which is fine with us.
I have a gut feeling that Ryno and Capela plus fillers are going to ATL for Millsap. The Hawks need a center and Capela is a very nice complementary piece to have for Shroeder to PnR with
Anderson Capela and the NGs will get us pretty damn close to the max for Millsap. If/when Melo is bought out we'll just bring him into the fold. Hell bring in JeVale McGee McGee/NeNe Millsap Ariza/Tucker Harden/Gordon Paul
Exactly Melo secured CP3 staying and a chance at a legit super team. Millsap probably won't beat GS Go all in for Melo or what's the point of bringing CP3 if we aren't gonna win
Unless Anderson is part of the deal, Millsap's salary isnt' taking off in Houston. We can only offer him like around 11mil starting salary which is too low for a player of his caliber.
what do the suns have to do with Milsap when he's about ot sign with the Nuggets? At least say something about golden nuggets or smth.
The Man. The Legend. For those of us who have been with CF.net since the early 2000's (second account) you know we all still are very grateful for all of the years that you were active.
