The Spurs lost to them by ONE bucket and that was without TD, Ginobili, and Parker. Surely you can't compare the aforementioned scrubs to those guys? We are not in the upper echelon yet and probably won't be this season either. It's clear we are lacking personnel at certain positions. Also, would help if Cutturnover would pull his head out. He has a knack for disappearing in the big games and padding his stats against the Heat/Bulls of the league. :(

MoT and EG can't play does hurt us, but they are not God. We lost to Mavs last year 4 times with them.

How to play inside-out and play against zone is the most important thing we need work on right now.

I agree it is two ways' problem, guards passing and Yao's position. But we definitely gonna work on it. Beause if you rely on outside shot, tonight's situation will come everynight. Then guards gonna frustrated, jack up more tough shot, turn the bal over, that is how we lost tonight.

it seems that the guards just lost confidence on him in this game. I know this sounds ridiculous, but that's the only reason because there are quite a lot of occasions that they don't even try to pass him the ball in the second half. They did that quite well in the first half.

    wtf, danjojo?

not a bad loss. well it was considering they did everything wrong when doing only some"thing" wrong will cost you the game against a team like dallas. bad time for an off-shooting night.

too bad they can't have a day or two off to dwell on the loss. i think it'd help them realize that they've done diddley-squat this season.

two words... "psychological loss". they beat themselves wondering why they can't beat the mavs. hopefully they won't meet up in the playoffs.

don't fret people... jvg will get on their asses after the game and we'll win tomorrow. :)

Eventually, Rox might want to get a better backup PG to control the tempo of the game. By the way, Yao's shooting under physical contact is still not good. He needs to get used to shoot the ball under contact.

It's not a shame to lose to Mavs.

We started 5:1. But people gotta look into the way we won. Our high yet questionably consistant outside shooting helped most. However, if we can't establish low post offense, we have little chance to compete perimeter shooting with Mars. We won't be a power force in the wild west either.

It's always a dillema that how a team wins a specific opponent in a specific night with a specific strategy and how this team develops in long run at each and every night.

I didn't think we would lose so badly. Yao missed a ton of point blank shots, he disappointed in so many ways today. Mobley's, Padgett's, and Boki's shooting all came back down to earth.
    Defense wasn't too bad.

Not all is lost! Its early in the season and we are just learning how to play the Team Game. This Game exposes JVG to a lot of Rocket problems, its only when he sees the players under this sort of stress can he fix the fundamental problems.
I realy dislike the three Guard lineup. I cant understand why Loochie Noochie is getting so many seconds on the court when he is only good enough to be in the NDL. Now Ying should be moved to the
three point line, where he might get the ball more often, as the message he is getting under the basket is that his players have little confidence in him.

Our defense left much to be desired tonite. However, we win this game with better execution on the fast break, Yao making most of those point blank shots he missed, and by not relying on the 3pt bomb. If we would have passed a few of those 3's we threw up in the 4th and substituted for easier shots, we have a good chance of winning. I have confidence that this will get better though. Hell, Yao can't play too much worse than he played tonite and he still put up 12 and 8.

By the way, is Pat Ewing earning a check or is he just some sort of bench dressing. C'mon Pat, demand more outta the big man. Teach him the way, dammit.

    We'll be alright. GO ROX!!

The game was not like what I thought before the game. 5 straight
    losses to Dass, Man.

Is this the real Yao? I feel disappointed. Jim is the only shining
    guy.

Steve is just a ****!!! Always tried to do fansy things and got screwed. Barkely was right on the money. The guards were just trying to fight agaist VG's system. They wanted to be THE MAN. A lot of times they neglected other open teammates and jacked up tough shots! Don't blame yao for his noting getting the touch, steve ass-lickers. Now we all know such weak excuses are Bull****. It was the guards who totally froze him out. Unless the guards are broken apart, Rox are going to nowhere!

    I'm really pissed.

Weakest move I've seen in my life. Mobley drove into a crowd towards baseline, turned the ball over. Whereas, Yao was right there in good position to receive the ball.

Then the next trip, Steve did almost the exact thing again.

    :p

Points are not everything in basketball. I agree with what was said, Yao needs to stop worrying about fouling so much, and take a stand in certain situations. His defense was weak today.

All around poor effort from the Rocks.

Cuttino has got to go. The dude takes ridiculous shots and can't pass for sh*t!!! hahaha. That almost looks like a Pun!

Can't pass for SHOT. ahhahaha...that's CAT for you.

    CUTTINO. YOU SUCK.

How can there be Cuttino fans out there????

Franchise did spend too much time dribbling...the Rocks need to get back to the basics!
