Second time this season we've beaten NY with final out OTB.

It's easy to forget, Yuli still has less than a year of MLB experience.

Also, can we give Hinch a nod for trotting Reddick out in left for the 9th. Clutch play. Correa is so accurate and lethal on those relay throws

I'm going tomorrow....feel a lot better going 1-1 instead of 0-2 and our dobbers in the dirt. Now theirs is and hopefully this will give them a hangover. I can't stand those bastads!

I like Hinch, but it was a no brainer pinch running Reddick for Beltran.

Martes has the shortest leash of any pitcher I've ever seen. That being said I'm glad we won anyway.

Lol have you met Astros fans? We wouldn't have anyone left in the bullpen if some people had it their way.

I got fed a fat cat turd and I am ok with that. Great win. Especially for the guys in the clubhouse.

Buuut. How much confidence would you have if you know that harris gave up a slam and Diaz was pitching the 8th.

Had to DVR the game, just got done.

Awesome win. Gurriel continues to trend in the right direction. Giles got lucky again and managed to not blow a save. He manages to not f**k things up pretty often for a guy that is supposedly always f**king things up.

Martes looked like a top arm today to continue his roller coaster. Such a tantalizing arm if he can put it together, such an aggravating pitcher when it isn't.

And let's take some time to appreciate Marwin Gonzalez. His power numbers very predictably fell off in June, yet he still managed a .339/.397/.435 slash line with only 1 HR. Two more walks today (adding to his already career high, and creating 2 runs) to continue his newfound awesome plate discipline. Walking 11% of the time this year, nearly triple what it has been in recent years, with also a decrease in K rate.

I like Marwin when he's not just trying to hit HR's.

Reminds me of Berkman as the type of hitter who can consistently hit the ball hard, and just happens to hit HR's because of it.

Betances/Chapman blew a 3 run lead with 5 outs to go... I wonder what CF would say regarding their bullpen situation and overall "mentality"? Or did Girardi blow the game for them as well?

Watched the 6-9 innings all over again and the yuli hit about 10x. One of my favorite games of the entire year.
It goes to show you that the game is the game, even the best get got. Yuli, the one that doesn't see many pitches had chapman one of the best, on the ropes. You could feel it.

Like biggie says, "You can have the biggest D, but when your heater gets shelled you ain't worth spit." or something like that.

I Feel bad for will. He was working the corner strike, ball. Low crossing the plate strike, ball. The ump was basically telling him it's only a strike if the batter fouls it off or swings and misses. =/

i don't see how any manager could blow that game unless he brought in someone who doesn't have experience in those situations over one of their go to guys. for example, instead of bringing in chapman to get yuli opt for the ghost of Kei Igawa.
