Hope you feel better, cod. Thanks for the info.

Beginning to think a threeway deal involving us, NY and Cleveland where we end up with Love and Melo goes to Cleveland might be our best bet.

Something like we get Love and O'Quinn, Cleveland gets Melo and NY gets Capela, Anderson and Frye (expiring). Losing Clint would suck, obviously, but it's something we have to consider at this point if we're going to continue to swing for the fences.

imagine getting this guy and he plays better next to harden and having him publicly say james harden is better to play with than lebron.

So the way I see it, the CP3 trade was about retaining space to spend ($10m less that CP3 took) + having all our exceptions to work with. Those are crucial to being able to fill out the roster. But yes, a third major player is needed to move us into the conversation with GS. So far the major players that were in play were:

    1) CP3 (Check)
    2) Blake Griffin (would have been a good get, but can't compete with the full max and 5th year)
    3) PG13 (this one's weird bc at the very least we know the Celtics had a better offer on the table but we just don't know Pritch went with OKC. I'd assume the same is true for DM.....even a better offer than OKC's poopoo later wasn't enough for Indy.)
    4) Butler (No way we could touch that deal)
    5) Melo (this isn't resolved yet)
    6) Millsap (this isn't resolved yet either)

I'm not sure if I'm missing anyone, but really we snagged one of the top tier FA (if not the best one realistically available) and the other one that moved (PG13) that we had a realistic shot at didn't pan out. That's disappointing yes, but Melo and Millsap are still in play. If we don't snag either one of those guys then color me disappointed. But a) we didn't come up with a donut here and b) it's not lack for trying (at least not that any of us know of yet)

Cod I hope you feel better man. Do you have any insight as to what the rockets plan to do now? Are they trying for melo or are they no ing on to something else? Thank you for everything you do and again I wish you all the best health in the world!

I suggested the same thing except it was Paul George instead of Carmelo. Love is a better fit here than he has been in Cleveland.

This is the type of deal that leads us to a 2nd round exit

Get real dude, anything less than a superstar leads us to 4-5 seeds. Wolves & thunder are potentially passing us now and the hope for a super team is fading away unless we get Melo.

This is are time to use hardens prime to from a super team with Melo. Anything less is ****ing pointless

I'd rather gut the team and try a CP3/Harden/Melo than just fill it full of roll players and bounce 2nd round

GS is owning this league for at least 5 years. I literally don't under how anyone here thinks we can compete without him. Any roll player in the reality of actually winning is fuvking pointless

Here's an angle to consider that was suggested to me days ago when I heard Melo was within our reach:

Cleveland/LeBron/Gilbert have , in many ways, dismantled the TRUE talent, skill and winner that Kevin Love is.

The elephant in the room (NBA room that is) is that "Nobody wants to take on Kevin Love." That's both true and false. Nobody wants to take Kevin Love of Cleveland who stays at the three point line and hesitates to take over. But, people want the Kevin Love who dominates in the post, like in Minny and can rebound with the best of them.

There is a rumor floating that involves The Land/ NYC and Houston. We need a big who can defend, stretch the floor and be our third star. Pick your poison. Love or Melo can both be the Third Hero. However, each offers unique differences.

What do we need most? Is it Melo's scoring in bunches ? Is it KLove being able to shoot from everywhere, rebound and run the pick and roll better than any big on our taem aside from NeNe (F that mishap btw..my god)

Fly Ry comes into play to make these numbers work. Shumpert is a filler whom I'm not thrilled with.

But an Ear I talk to fairly often is a little too confident that we will have a chance to snag Love....

***because the narrative that has been created by teams/snakes/GMS is that "Nobody wants to trade for Kevin Love."

    I'd take him without hesitation.

So much to discuss guys...sorry for the rambling. Just keeping you relatively up to date with ALL I'm hearing between meds, work, coaching and playing some good ol VidGammmmmes (Ne voice) with my buddy while he tries to regroup.

Besides Hayward (and Durant/Curry), Love would be the best possible get with Paul of this entire FA. Getting him would be amazing. Take him over Melo/Milsap/Griffin etc easily.

I'm not a huge Kevin Love fan, but I'd LOVE him over Ryan Anderson. In fact, I just formed an organization called ABRA: Anybody But Ryan Anderson.

Man just thinking about the possibility of letting Love be the old Minny Love. I say snag him if we can.

Wow, I think I would do that trade assuming Love has just been under utilized in CLE. Could still allow is to use MLE and BAE for depth. Gordon stings and Love's defense is meh but worth it if we can get solid depth. Amir Johnson, etc?

It's so funny. Three years ago, I talked about how Love was the most overrated player in the league. Now? He's one of the most underrated players.

There are many reasons why I would love to have him on this team, but one of the BIGGEST reasons is the fact that he can hit free throws consistently. It only makes your team even more dangerous when the big man you are running the pick and roll with at the end of games can knock down free throws as well.

3 way trade of shump love to Houston and melo to cavs and Anderson to nyk works if we include non guaranteeds
