Let's assume that a Paul George deal would have been Eric Gordon + Dekker and Trezl. Would you rather have a lineup of Bev Harden George Anderson Capella Bench Lou, ariza, Nene Or Paul Harden Ariza Anderson Capella Bench Nene, Gordon
Ya let's give up our bench for PG13 for a years rental so he can leave for LA Anyone who wanted PG13 over Melo is a idiot. Melo gives us a chance to build a super team. PG13 was a half ass year rental of a super team
I agree with your points in a lot of threads, but you need to be less aggressive my breh. Meaningful basketball discussion is nearly impossible here when you call out the opposing side like that.
Fitwise PG is better but CP3 is better by a big margin even and PG would be rental anyway. Cp3 easily.
Pretty close Overall. Both teams got great Deals and got better by a big margin. I kinda would have preferred PG, but it seems like he is a rental since he wants to go to LA. Now both OKC and HOU are threatening to become the next superteam. I believe more guys want to play with CP and JH than with RW and PG (who might be leaving soon) - so it all comes down to who we get in FA and maybe via trades. If we can round out the roster with guys like Milsap, Ibaka, Melo, Reddick or the likes, we look really strong on paper, especially if we don't have to give up Capela or Gordon.
Well, to be honest both guys are injury prone and the Rockets/Thunder both took great risks with these deals. I would have preferred Paul George myself because I think he can shadow some of our weaknesses while not interfering with Harden too much. That said, and if you go with what bbholic swears by every morning when he has normal cup of coffee (or whisky), the Rockets need a second playmaker and CP3 is a much better playmaker than Paul George. Tha dudes main concern is still on the defensive side of the ball, and while CP3 is an excellent defender I think we need more length and paint defense which is something George would have provided while still being a productive 20ppg scorer every night which would have helped fill a need for us while not giving up anything offensively. That said, I'm glad MDA is our coach right now because if anyone out there could make a two PG system work it would be him. Maybe we end up shocking the league with this setup, who knows? One thing is for certain, though. Next year just got a whole lot more interesting and the offseason just started so more deals to come!!
