Pretty reasonable contract actually. $11.5M per year. Equivalent to something like $7M or $7.5M per year under the old cap from a few years back. Another reference point: Allen Crabbe got $75M last season for basically being the same 3-and-D player at about the same age.
i think this shows a few things: a) maybe i haven't paid enough attention to snell. last i noticed him he was getting uneven minutes for chicago, maybe he's better now. b) allen crabbe has a truly awful contract c) the players are so stupid for not smoothing the cap. people like crabbe got all the benefits of the cap increase as everyone handed out crazy contracts in one crazy offseason, so crazy the cap actually didn't increase as much the next offseason because they handed out so much money. evan turner got 18 million per!!!
Barely palatable deal. They couldn't help themselves and had to give him a player option without even asking for a 500k discount to get away from the tax. Idiot FO as usual.
