Funny is the biggest criticism around here on Harden is high turnovers That being a product of his high risk passes At least one a game passing ahead of the pack it seems Watching these two work that out will be amazing If Paul gets above 3 turnovers a game for a first time and Harden is limited to 4 turnovers a game. . . . I think I will take that Rocket River
How was CP3 on Curry . Having Harden and Paul means Curry now *has* to guard one of them Rocket River
I am happy like everyone of us for the news that Paul is in this team. I still don't believe this team is good enough to win a title even with addition of more superstars in the future. My first option to win championship will always be the development of draft picks.
I would, but a lot hinges on how Booker turns out. Either way, Clips are completely strapped for assets. This deal was the definition of a win-win. Great job by both organizations. LA really needed to get something for CP3. Not a bad haul at all.
Were you a fan during the SAM CASSELL / CUTTINO MOBLEY year? I felt like they put the clippers back on the map after a long time off Rocket River
I think you do usually have to draft and develop atleast one superstar, usually your best player at that. I feel even though we got harden in trade, it does sort of feel like he's always been here. We got him still on his rookie deal he was what like 21? And had never started. He's truely been developed by the the rockets. But after that most contenders have added big time players through trade. Usually in the history of the game. The second best player comes from trade. Showtime lakers traded for Kareem, heat traded for Shaq and then years later added Lebron and bosh. Warriors signed KD. Boston traded for KG and Allen Rockets second title traded for drexler. Moses Malone traded to philly after winning mvps and won a chip on one of the best collection of talent the league has ever seen. Celtics traded the first pick for Robert parish and Kevin mchale. But all super teams don't usually get all there players through the draft. Bulls with Jordan and pippin, Spurs with all their players and warriors with there big three. Imo the best drafting ever in a small period had to be the thunder. 07 Durant at 2, 08 Westbrook at 5 and 09 harden at 3. All three guys are all NBA two of them have won league MVP and the other was 2nd in MVP 2x out of the last 3 years. They went to a finals at age 22 and 21. Why they traded harden is beyond me. They would have atleast 3 chips by now. Golden state would have zero and the rockets would prob have one of the top five players from the 13/14/15 draft class. We were in tank mode going into the season before harden was traded here on Halloween And I know Morey would never say it but when we landed harden he was anticipating the team being a lottery team for atleast 2 years and drafting another star to pair with harden. He had know idea that he would lead the team to the playoffs with a roster that was expected to win 25 games by vegas and then win 54 games the next season. Winning is good its why we have cp3 and also why Dwight signed here. It's also made the way a lot of posters here wish we were built (draft) impossible. Morey has had a tough gig. No good draft picks because his superstar was good enough to lead role players to top 5 records at age 23, basically it was the same problem Lebron had his first go around in Cleveland only difference is houston is much better run and has a lot better GM.
Hello Rockets fans! I'm very excited about the addition of Chris Paul. I'm also very anxious and excited to see how we fill out the roster. Yet I was curious if I was the only one who noticed that there had been no interview with James Harden about the addition of Chris Paul. Isn't there usually a news conference when the Rockets add such a player like Paul. When I say news conference im referring involving introducing Chris Paul. Not just Morey and the coach. Yet I've heard of no such thing yet. It's like we haven't heard publicly from Harden or Paul after the trade. Besides Paul's tweet thanking LA. Do you think they are waiting on another move before they do a news conference. Just curious.
I think you nailed it. I thought about this also. I truely believe the rockets have something cooking and want to wait till it's completed. So they can have a big rally and press conference to announce the new big three. I mean cp3 is a rocket it's official he's on the front page of the rockets team page. Capela and Gordon have welcomed him on twitter. So no other reason to not announce when they would bring him here for media introductions. Gotta be something big coming. There is a reason we keep trading for these non gaurentee contracts.
I definitely agree with you. I do believe there is a reason we keep trading for these non guarantee contracts. And I feel like they are waiting for the other move so they can incorporate it all into one news conference/rally.
True. I mean if we suck for an entire generation, we're garunteed to have the best point guard of the next generation. I mean sure, we just acquired arguably the best of of all time, but I'm sure we'll get another one in the draft, no problem.
Late to party, but my goodness - a historic moment for the franchise. It's crazy to think this is the best duo we've had since the championship years and guess what? We aint done making moves.
