I know there are tons of positives but I want to list a couple of negative impact of a Harden and Paul tandem

    Limited spacing

Holding onto the ball too much ........

    Height issues

What could go wrong right? Thoughts?

The fake fans who will jump ship from Golden State to us when Harden and Paul destroy the league.

both being too unselfish where the game becomes unnatural. don't really see spacing as an issue. if anything both of them help each other in that regard

depending on who they get..... Carmelo shoots the ball a tad better than PG for example.

Ariza is above average at best at shooting. Brickhouses ftw

I doubt that CP3 will become a Redick for Harden completely.

i actually think PG is a better shooter than melo. but i mean in terms of cp3 and harden both have to be guarded. not the same as a backcourt of bev/harden being guarded

Absolutely nothing. It's like having Hot Sauce and the Professor on 1 team. Ballin.

I have questions about how they'll mechanically work together, too, but can we just have a couple of days to bask in the warmth of having acquired another star player before we start the inevitable nitpicking? The season is months away. There's plenty of time.

One of these guys is going to defer slightly to the other. My Guess Paul defers to Harden.

There might be some rocky times figuring it out but if they (and possibly another star) can figure it out this team is going to be really good.

Durant and Steph had to figure it out, Wade and Lebron had to adjust as well.

Russ and KD kinda struggled finding the synergy to some degree but they were still damn good together.

Two guys who are elite play makers and ball handlers can be beautiful once they get flowing together.

And this I said not a repeat of Ty Lawson. Ty Lawson was just not good here and since his drinking issues became public he hasn't been the same guy. Even when we brought him off the bench he still sucked. Chris Paul is still an elite player so this won't look like that.

Personality issues. Cp3 is a meticulous clean cut passer. Harden likes to dribble loosely and extra long just to bask in the fame.

Their personalities could clash. I can see them yelling at each other on the floor if sh*t goes wrong.

You take that chance. Could be the #1 backcourt in NBA history.

The only small issue I can see is who sets the table late in a close game? I hope those things are figured out as the season goes along. When you have elite players they typically go with the hot hand or better matchup in the moment. Good thing is not only can CP3 create and pass well, he is also a damn good finisher. He has more experience at it than James. Both guys are creators and see the court very well so I think either way we are in good hands.

that's not something you can actually set out and say this person gets it in this situation. that's just something that can be matchup based and or game flow dependent. not something you force
