I just heard on the radio that Mario Lemieux said Jordan told him that he was coming back. Apparently they're good friends and Jordan told Mario he was coming back next season.

Damn I just realized I misspelt his name.

Lemieux said Tuesday he has talked to Jordan this month and expects him to make a comeback.

"I think it's great for basketball and, obviously, I'm very excited about it," Lemieux said of reports of a Jordan comeback. "He's going to give it a shot and he's working very hard. He's taking his time, he's taking a few months to get ready, but I'm sure when he gets back, he'll be the best player again."

jordan is going to come back and tarnish his "final shot" and "going out on top", so i am very much looking forward to him doing these things [IMG]

I really hope he doesn't come back again. The man needs to learn to let go.

    He just went on vacation.

If the guy does come back, which I don't think he's going to do (I really do believe he is marketing himself), then why not? It's not about tarnishing his accomplishments. It's about his love for the game. If I had the skills I'd play until I die. Nobody remembers how you finished your career. They remember how you glorified the game. We tend to forget the ugly stuff, just like with our girlfriends and wives. It's only natural that we remember the good stuff. He's got nothing to lose.

I think it would be a good move for the NBA. Jordan will bring fans back to the NBA. Secondly it could be a good long-term idea for him to sell (wink, wink) his shares now and buy them back later when they will be a better team.
I sincerely think if you add Jordan and CB4 even at 60% of their former selver that they could make a run in the East for the playoffs.
Plus I honestly believe alot of players would love to play with Jordan and/or CB4. Especially if both of these guys only play for a million, they should have cap room to get a couple FAs.
Yeah it could tarnish his image, but hey most guys don't go out on top, and I think people will remember his domination of the game more so tahn his last couple of years even if his comeback is unsuccesful.
Only other bad thing if the zone defense is allowed, that could really hurt both MJ & CB4. Neither guy will be able to consistently beat folks off the dribble and it will allow the back side shot blocker to force them to pass, which they both can do, but everyon will expect MJ to get his 25/night.

The only people worried about tarnishing an image are the fans. It doesn't matter to Jordan, and it shouldn't. Jordan returning isn't going to make him any less successful, and even though I rooted against Jordan while he was on the Bulls I hope he is successful in his return. And I hope Charles Barkley gets his ring, where ever he might go.
