Can somebody prove Rush's hypocrisy? I know he said the stuff about Kurt Cobain... but I believe that was years before Rush developed his addiction. To prove hypocrisy, you would have to have among other things evidence that he dispelled these people all the while being just like them... and even that assumes that their addiction grew out of a medical need and not a wanton lifestyle.
Nice example of selective memory here. Actually Rush did dog McNabb. I'm not even talking about race here either. He killed two birds with one stone; trying to make himself look smart by saying he always knew McNabb sucked (that is basically the part where he kicked him when he was down), and trying to make it look like some liberal media was trying to promote african american atheletes.
Huh? If Rush hadn't yet fallen to his addiction while making the remarks about, say, Cobain... he can hardly be said to be hypocritical. The hypocrisy would occur if he were using while making the critical remarks. Hypocrisy surely has an expiration date just as it has a born-on date... if at all.
I guess he is going to have learn not to encourage RMT. I learned my lesson about that quite a while ago. I've got to admit, it was kind of funny.
Speaking of conservative talk radio... Talk show host Jon Matthews indicted on indecency with a child charge By ERIC HANSON Copyright 2003 Houston Chronicle RICHMOND -- Radio talk show host Jon Matthews was arrested in Sugar Land today and charged with one count of_indecency with a child. After weeks of speculation, he_was indicted by a Fort Bend_County jury_and taken into_custody_at 3 p.m. today. Indecency with a child is a third-degree felony. KSEV-AM 700 pulled the 59-year-old broadcaster off the air on Oct. 24 when the station's owner learned that Matthews was being investigated by Sugar Land police because of an "allegation from a community member." He had been the host of a weekday news show from 6 to 9 a.m. Details have been slow to emerge in the investigation, and the Houston Chronicle had requested a copy of the police report under the Texas Public Information Act. State law says police departments cannot withhold basic information such as the date and location of an alleged incident and a description of the offense. The only detail police spokeswoman Pat Whitty would release before today was that the alleged incident happened in the 500 block of Rolling Mill, the street where Matthews lives. Matthews appeared before the grand jury on Tuesday, followed by his wife, Carolyn._
Is Rush a hypocrite when he rails against public assistance, even though he had accepted unemployment checks himself? I guess not since that was before he became a big shot radio host.
I think his railing against public assistance is railing against those who have made it a lifestyle choice.
