Better deal? He is getting the max no matter where he goes. What better deal is he going to get? I don't think he is going to come to Houston but to say he is doing this to get a better deal is absurd.

This. He's going to make the max wherever he goes and Clippers know they have to give him the max to keep him. There is no signing of Chris Paul unless it's the max. He's that good of a player.

He's NOT saying no to 50 million nor is he saying no to Jerry West.

Move along nothing to see here.

Not true, Clips can up the ante with a no-trade clause.

CP3 at this point might be willing to take less to help whatever team he is joining build a roster than can contend.

He has made a lot of money but if he goes somewhere and takes 30 milllion + it will be very difficult for that team to build a competitive roster.

He isn't dumb... he knows that.

I wouldn't be shocked to see him or guys like him take less.

Perhaps, but if that is the case, that's even a bigger hole in the "CP3 is just using Rockets as leverage" theory. What is there to leverage if you're willing to take less money anyways?

If DM convinces CP3 to sign and forgo 50M, we need to make a banner and hang somewhere near the TC.

Not the first time we read something like this in the last 12/24 months, i'd say there's definitely something here.

Woj said a couple weeks ago that Griffin to Boston had legs, IIRC.

I remember something similar too...and makes sense, they're playing Amir and Olynyk next to Horford...i mean, they can AND should definitely upgrade their front court. Maybe they would need more a rim protector/rebounder than a 4 but...

I think it will be easier to get Millsap if Toronto is willing to pay Ibaka. Millsap should be 90% gone at this point.

I'd take that too. That is actually better because Millsap is more versatile. We should move Harden to the 2 guard. I hope we can keep Gordon. We would be pretty dangerous.

Agreed, also on Gordon, but i think we're probably going to lose him if we'll eventually get two stars...

Well, of course you're not paying him $30,000,000.

But would Les? I'd stop at $25,000,000 a season for 4 years.

    Dude

Nobody is expecting Rudyc281 to pay Paul Milsap 30 million. No offense bro, but I doubt your stacking like that.

The Houston Rockets could probably pay Milsap 30 mill per though.
