Well, I can't agree with that. I love San Antonio, it's like my second home. To the person who asked, no I am not a mod here and never have been. I've known about this site for awhile but didn't register on the forum until a couple months ago. The ironic thing about this for me guys is back when I didn't care about the Rockets, it seemed like they were on tv constantly! And now that I *want* to see the games, I can't unless its on TNT or ESPN. Yes, I would be willing to pitch in 10 bucks or so for the whole season. I'm a single dad, so I don't always have a lot of opportunties to go out, but it would be nice to have something like this as an option if I had the chance. I've never been to Fox & hound, is it a really loud and/or dark place? I really don't dig places like that. But I'd be willing to give most places a try atleast once. later, Jeffster
Jeffster, You are the fouth to commit $10, so thanks. About Fox & Hound...it isn't really that dark, it has quite a few big screen tvs, about 6 pool tables, an upstairs part, and food to go with it. I like the Fox. Never have been to Bourbon Street, so can't compare it.
Yo rox fans, I am def in for pitching in twenty of so bucks to watch the games. Also I have direct TV dish, and a pretty good size living room with a nice flat screen, and if i could talk my roomies into it, i am sure that I could house some rox viewing parties for games. That way we could get a BCS thing going for rockets games. But it would probably be better to figure out a bar to go to and pay them to get NBA league pass. Lets stay on top of this and try to figure it out. I will keep checkin post. later Aggie rocket fan
I just read the thread on getting it at bourbon street. Please count me in on this if it is around ten bucks. Also I have another buddy who is a huge rocket fan who would def be in too. Let me know
im in as long as the bars not 21 and up! im still 19, it seems like ive been stuck on 19 forever, oh well
I'm in!!! Sorry I have to make a little plug for A&M, go watch The Aggie Men b-ball team tomorrow(Wed.) night(exhibition) at Reed and Monday (exhibition) night... Hey I'm a fan of b-ball first and A&M is expecting good things this season, I'm talking good things.. If any of you post on ag websites, I'm agzz(agtimes/websider)/AG(texags)... Once again I'm in for $10...
I am so tired of COX not picking up the Rockets on ch.15. I haven't found a place worth going to view games here yet. I know a guy who just got League Pass, and I might beable to go there and watch a bunch of games at his house. It pisses me off how Cox doesn't allow consumers to buy NBA League Pass on regular Cable. Man, this sucks. When I used to live back in Houston, I didn't have cable and so I would not beable to see many games because all of them were on cable channels (FSSW). Now that I am out of the house and out of Houston, I can't see them!! The games are now on local tv. Talk about screwing me over.
This is getting ridiculous. I got an idea... Right next to Cox is that abortion clinic. People are always outside that thing protesting this and that. We get outside Cox and......nevermind, i need sleep. Just keep on 'em everyone.
If anyone talks to Bourbon Street and gets an answer please post it here, I'm pretty sure I can talk some of my friends to pitch in some money along with me. A bunch of us have been complaining about the Rockets not being on tv, unless its an ESPN/TNT game.
With all of these people, I don't see how Bourbon Street can say no. I think this battle is almost won.
Seriously, if Cox doesnt get on the ball, but some place does, let us all know and we can thrown some nice Aggieland Rocket parties. Or atleast tell them we will so they'll put the Rockets on!
Cox loves to do the run around on the phone. I talk to one lady, she doesn't know what I am talking about when I mention Ch.15. I talk to another, and she said they are waiting for the Rockets to respond to a deal.
Just got the following email response from COX: "I am sorry for the delay in answering your question. I kept hoping I would hear of news regarding the pending contract which would enable Cox Communications to re-broadcast the Rocket's games on channel 15. At this time, we do not have a contract in place which would give Cox the authorization to air these games." And that's about it. No help there. I keep hoping Tim will say something on the thread that will give us some clue to whether or not we should keep waiting to see if COx will be able to show the games, or just abandon the idea and do one of these bar and grill get together things.
I was told today that they are in the works of a deal with the Rockets. The lady told me that they are close to an agreement. I really hope this was true. She did say they hope to get it done and know the answer soon, because she said there are a lot of people contacting them about the Rocket's games. So keep it up guys.
