Sellouts don't mean jack squat if season ticket holders in the lower bowl don't bother to show up for the games.

Ushers should allow people to sit anywhere they want after halftime. Then the lower bowl wouldn't look so empty on TV like last night. The sections behind the baskets looked so empty during the game, you would have thought it was a shootaround.

Dallas is a football town also, and they have the Mavs. And the crowds are pretty good w/ both the Mavs and Cowboys. How come Dallas is getting crowds here and Houston isn't? They have businessmen coming to the games also and they sellout their games too. I don't get it.

Yep, I agree that price is the main reason the fan base is so quiet.

Buying season tickets with nice seats costs as much as a car. For the price of really good seats, I could put a plasma tv in every room in my house for one season.

Hard to justify that kind of cash for what historically has been a poor product.

It's really bad that this team still has a lot to prove to the Houston crowd. I guess we might have to win another championship or two before we are actually in the eyes of Houston.

Maybe this has something to do with it...nobody knows who the team is anymore.

Hmm ... attendance is up over 20% (after being up 18% last year, the second best increase in the league after the re-located Hornets), and we're going to sell out 3 of our first 5 regular season games.

I want to get to the point where every game is a sellout as much (actually, probably more) than the next guy, but increases this big are rare in sports, and increases this big two years in a row are very rare. Increases this big two years in a row for a team that hasn't made the playoffs in four years?

I'm by no means satisfied, but I'm feeling pretty encouraged.

i was just wondering.. how come they won't let you move down to the lower level if there aren't a lot of people down there? yeah, i know they want us to buy the more expensive tickets, but if there are a lot of empty seats, why waste those seats and not let the true fans sit down there?

Was there any other way to go but up? I believe only 2 teams had worse attendance last year, and only 1 the year before. That would mean a few other teams that haven't made the playoffs in four years had much better attendance.

But everytime I see the crowds, they seem to be out of it. I see a lot of empty seats and the excitement is nothing like you would see at Arco or at American Airlines in Dallas. Even if it's a sellout, like it was mentioned before in this thread, most of it must of been bought by businessmen, firms and other companies who just bought it just for the hell of it.

Being down is by no means a guarantee that you'll go up.

I believe most of their games have been sell outs so far this season with exception to the game against a crappy team, on a tuesday. (Heat game).

Tonight should be a packed house again.

dude you shouldn't even say that. it's more physical than you think. you can't compare football to basketball; they're two completely different sports
