If the Cavs are "out" because they are afraid of the one year rental how can it possibly be anything more than a one year rental with Houston??
Haha. Fair enough. But this is from the Cavs perspective. And they're still going after Butler... who is under contract but good luck keeping him happy being one year ... he's not happy in Chicago.
Cause the Cavs still (potentially) have many chances with a core of LeBron and Kyrie. We have none and this would bring us that much closer. Obviously it still won't be enough to beat GSW but its one step closer. If you add a 3rd guy then our chances increase that much more.... lots of IFs but you never know what could be unless you try.
Any deal you make for George you have to make the deal comfortable with it being for just this upcoming season. Him staying beyond one year for any team other than the Lakers is extremely unlikely. He has spent a year telling media allies that he is going to go the Lakers regardless of a paycut. It's where he wants to be no matter the cost. So for him to stay beyond a year means he'd have to absolutely fall in complete love with a situation, and let's be real, that's unlikely.
I like PG13 a lot and want him here. With that said he's delusional if he think she he can make the lakers even a playoff team. He can barley keep Indy in the east with vets above .500. He's a complimentary star needs to play with one of the true MVP caliber guys if he wants to truely compete for a title. A team with PG13 as the best player will never be a true contender and in all likelihood won't ever win more than 45 games max. He couldn't take this rockets team to even that total imo if swapped for harden. With that said Morey should gamble and trade whatever he had to outside of harden and Capela to make this happen.
pre injury PG was an mvp caliber player. post injury although a good player still is an all star caliber player
??? He's just coming off of a career year offensively. His defense has slipped a bit but that's a lot to do with Vogel not being the coach anymore.
i don't think he's the same player he was before that leg break. defensively he was huge difference maker before and that made a huge impact on the game.
Look at the plus side, george has tanked his trade value so much that 2 first round picks is asking for too much
paul george is an mvp caliber player in the first trimester, a scrub in the second and a very good player in the third. Been like that for years
True but it was actually 4 seasons ago, but that was a totally different team and was pretty loaded with solid players. George hill and David west were very good still and Roy Hibbert was coming off an allstar year were he was one of the better centers in the league especially as a rim protector. Not to mention that team got off to the best start in the NBA if I remember correctly with ppl saying Paul George was better than KD only for him to burn out after 35 games and shoot sub 40% for the rest of the season. I always liked PG13 but he's not a franchise number 1 and honestly I think Magic Johnson knows this and is part of the reason he doesn't want to throw any assets towards getting him right now. From a basketball perspective Paul George makes a lot more sense for houston Boston and the Cavs than it does for the lakers.
Gordon + Dekker for PG should be a competitive offer, both are players the Pacers should want and who they could control their rights for 3 years.
Feigen latest article confirms rockets interest in George and that the rockets would gamble they could resign him
