Doubling early. Stupid. I just read the assist thing for Mobley...11 for a career high. Before people go off that Mobley can pass, this is 11 assists for Rudy. Mobley had some fastbreak stuff, but those late assists were do to NJ being foolish and allowing one Mobley pass to produce a shot. Normally it takes two passes to find an open man.
DaDakota: Maybe Mobley can be a star? Every time I'm convinced that Mobley is simply a GOOD player, he does something like this. He's had a few too many of those types of games for me to put it down as chance any longer. Mobley might make the all-star team someday, a fact which I would never have guessed at the beginning of this season. Could you imagine a 50 point, 12 assist backcourt that can rebound? A little defense from the two, and we might not need a great big men to start making some serious runs. ------------------ Boston College - Big East -East Division Regular Season Champs Worst to First in 2001!
Haven, The only way the Rockets are really going to succeed is if our backcourt gets less points and they get a frontcourt scorer who gets a lot more then Mo does now. In other words, I would be happy with 35 points from the backcourt and 18 from the PF spot, then you would have a team that has a legitimate chance. I guess the only other alternative to this is the backcourt gets 50, and we have a PF who gets 15 boards a night and 10 points or so, that would work too. DaDakota Now if we can just beat those darn Spurs. ------------------ If you like RTS games, check out this one. www.frontierwars.com coming soon to a PC near you.
i like this option much better, Not to knock Mo tonight, cause his offense was a big reason for the win, but 3 rebounds???? ------------------ "Repression never did me any harm (I finally ceased to include "stop masturbating" as one of my guilt ridden New Year's resolutions, but that's a different topic)." Could the reason for his low amount of rebounds be that he was spending alot of time out further away from the basket? I KNOW that can't be the total reason... but I noticed it especially towards the end of the game when Jack was bringing it up Mo would be out near the 3Line on the left side. Maybe its alittle harder to grab boards from out there?? Besides, he didn't seem to be playing with the fire that he has shown the last few games..Factor? Maybe, maybe no.... BTW..great game from Jack tonite.. hope he can keep it up. ------------------
Anyone else notice how they are giving Mo that midrange shot when the ball is swung around on 2 shakes? It doesnt matter who is in the corner, teams are just gonna make him prove that he can hit that shot. That's fine by me, because that's his bread and butter. ------------------
That doesn't explain why he can't seem to get his hands on defensive rebounds. As one of Mo's biggest fans, I sure hope he can find a way to get more boards, because that would really get the Rockets more interested in keeping him long term. ------------------ Founding Father of the Refs Suck Club
Also didn't hurt that there weren't that many rebounds going around with us shooting 56%, and them shooting 50%. ------------------ "That's been a lifelong dream of mine." -Vince Carter, after laying it in on a breakaway, much to the Vancouver crowd's displeasure.
