Is the form Islam practiced in Oman a tolerant form of Islam?

    I was watching Parts Unknown and they mentioned Oman's form of Islam is pretty open and tolerant, does anyone know about this? If it is the case, why doesn't the other Muslim nations adopt this form of Islam?

    I personally don't know much about Oman, but when you ask why other nations don't adopt a particular form of Islam...that right there is a problem itself. Any countries that rely on religion to dictate peoples lives is going to have problems. Keep religion and state separate. If the governments of the middle east can realize this the world would be better off.

    What I mean is if there are Muslims looking to "advance" their religion, this would be a good template to follow.

    Abadi's were the reason Islam spreads in most of Asia (Indonesia,Malaysia,Philippines......) without an army, just merchants doing their businesses and socially introduced their faith to others when they were asked , they are intermediate sectors of Islam between SHIEA without preaching (revenge/hate),and Sunni without arrogance

    Your idea would be similar to asking all Christians to be Copts ,a lot of crazy stuffs would have not taken places in history (in theory of course) but ....good luck of this happening in both cases Since they're not recognized by their main stream counterparts to begin with....
