It seems to me that this is one phenomenal record that gets no mention. Why? Anybody know what the second longest streak is? When will it be beat? ------------------ Time is a great teacher-- only problem is it kills all its pupils. PowerbizOnline.com
It got a lot of attention last year when the Lakers won 19 in a row. Many analysts believed that the Lakers would break that record last year, but the Washington Wizards ended that nonsense. ------------------ Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball. I don't think that record will ever be broken because the league has so much potential for upsets that a team would have to be unbelievably lucky to come close. ------------------
S_F_R, I kind of agree with you and that's why I don't understand why this particular record isn't accorded more respect along the lines of Dimaggio's hitting streak. It almost seems unmatchable yet it isn't ranked among the great accomplishments by the fans or the pundits. 19 is not really that close is it? Imagine the Wizards standing in the way of history. Wait till Jordan comes back.... I guess it's because the NBA is not a team league; it's a league of stars who are forced to play on teams. On a related note, does anybody know how many games the Bulls won in a row during their 71 win season? They must have had at least one long stretch of wins. ------------------ There are no stupid questions, only stupid people who ask questions.
