He is a better all around player than Posey. His offense mainly. He can post up and shoot consistently. I liked Posey, but his decision making was horrible at some points last year. Posey is a younger, less-experienced JJ.
umm lets see theyre both great defenders who hustle and get in the face of their opponent plus they can contribute a lot to the offense as well
JJ has legitimate range on his long ball, can post up his man, and generally create his own shot in the half court. He passes well, and is a strong man-on-man defender (i.e. he doesn't just play the passing lanes on defense).
well the either of them aren't playing in a church league, theyre playing in the NBA my friend so we are comparing their team contributions, especially what posey contributed last year to the ROX and what JJ is doing this year
Their games are quite different. To start with JPo's O is fed off his D and running the court. Great defender on man, in passing lanes. Runs the court like a gazelle. Can get hot, but don't count on it. JJax is an excellent on man defender, very smart, economical player. He has handles, court vision, and court sense. I'd like both of them on the Rox. I like both their games, as dissimilar as they are to each other.
JJ will hold down the SF position until Boki is ready. And thank goodness that Boki is showing signs of ability to be a starter in the league, eventually.
I really like Jim Jackson. I liked him when he was with the Kings, and I'm thrilled that the Rockets forked over the cash to acquire him. I think the media really exaggerated his propensity to be uncoachable. Judging by how productive he was for the Kings (a real team-oriented franchise), he is very, very coachable. A smart player with the guts and discipline to do whatever the team/coach/other players ask of him. Though I could understand his feelings of remorse when leaving the Kings. They were/are a good team, a proven contender in the playoffs, and it sounded like he was really getting used to the idea of staying with that team for the remainder of his career. I hope he entertains the latter with the Rockets. Even though Houston isn't where the Kings are as a proven playoff power, I think the Rockets are better off for him in the long run because they're up-and-coming while the Kings have already peak and are already experiencing their descent from the playoff pantheon of elite teams. I'm really excited about how the perception of the Rockets will change over the course of this one season. This is our year! It better be our year! We can only be ready. I wish I could fast forward to the end of the season, or to the end of the playoffs, when they start listing off the teams who comprise the elite of the league for the next season. I guarantee the Rockets will be considered among the Western Conference elite along with Dallas, San Antonio, LA, and Minnesota. Who knows? Maybe they'll bump one or two of those teams out. I strongly recommend that Clutch City makes an archive of all the current power ranking lists and articles about the Rockets this year and last year. I'm sure it'll make great reading a year from now when sports critics start writing about how the Rockets are the "It" team, the team to beat in the playoffs. I honestly think that Houston is the most underrated team in the league . . . but that will change. After this year, the Texas triad of NBA superpowers will be complete, and the state will be a burial ground for all the teams in the eastern conference. My only wish is that Rudy T makes an appearance at one of the home games, if not all of them, especially in the play-offs. He's as much a part of the current result as anyone, and even despite his absence, strong residuals of his spirit are still with the players.
I think it might be because he's been shipped off to 10 different teams in the past 11 years. That's kind of tough on a player; it makes him feel like he's expendable, interchangeable, or not even wanted. Considering that he was the fourth pick, it pretty much cements his status as a role player. But for an odder reason, I really, really, really like him. I like his demeanor, his stoicisim, and he's a pretty good looking guy with nice arms.
why did JJ leave sacremento if he was playing well there and Sac was a great team...bad offer for contract extension?
i think they just didn't resign him because they said they had a limit? something like that. good for us though he is a good looking guy with nice arms
He didn't leave Sacromento. The Kings gave him up so they could land Brad Miller from Indiana. They offered Miller a really big contract, too.
I think, overall, the Rockets are one of the prettier looking teams in the league. Francis, Cat, Jackson, Boki--Yao is kinda cute, too. The Mr. Personality guys are Moochie and Maurice Taylor
don't forget eddie! wilks always seems like he's happy; he has a very cute smile! i met him, and he's so nice!
<img src="http://www.myphotolab.com/servlet/QCImageViewer?url=/MDImages/3000/3604/4297906.jpg&bogus="> this isn't a great picture of him.. i'm happy he made the team too bad for scales and muoneke though. they should have been picked up by other teams.
