From ESPN.com: Tomjanovich fined $5,000 for criticizing refs NEW YORK – The NBA fined Houston Rockets coach Rudy Tomjanovich $5,000 on Wednesday for publicly criticizing referees after a loss earlier this week. The fine was announced by Stu Jackson, the NBA's senior vice president of basketball operations who had his busiest day yet. Including the punishments from the Sacramento-Orlando fight, Jackson handed out $70,000 in fines. Tomjanovich was fined for comments made after Sunday's 94-92 loss at Phoenix. In that game, the Rockets held a seven-point lead with 3½ minutes to go but squandered the advantage. In a profanity-laced tirade afterwards, Tomjanovich singled out referees Bob Delaney and Derek Richardson, whom he claimed cost Houston a win against Dallas the previous week.
