So as we all know Harden may not win mvp this year( god knows why). But last night i heard wilbon speak on the durant okc situation, and say that durant could never fully unlock his true potential playing next westbrook. That westbrook was more of a me guy than a we guy. He said Curry is more of a we guy than a me guy. Which brings me to my point

But Wilbon you fool, you voted for westbrook. Listen adam silver is too blame here as well. He is the one that saw the writing on the wall, that harden and westbrook were locked in 3rd and 6th seed, and that okc had no chance of beating us. So they moved the announcement of the mvp to july, they announced this during mid season when harden was starting to pull away with the lead

The same mouth that s's some d can also bite it off.

The media is in love with the warriors again. TBF, what that team is doing is special. Wilbon is mesmerized by that. Durant looks revitalized (what a wonder it is to play next to three superstars). The casual fan LOVES this. Adores it. What the NBA is doing is mortgaging the fandom of hardcore fans to invest in the casual ones. The MVP race is nothing but a footnote now.

Edit: if you think about it, this is exactly what NCCAB does. No one cares about college basketball in the regular season. Even college students don't care too much. The second march madness hits, everyone and their mother are interested in it again. Everyone does a bracket, and somehow everyone suddenly cares about his/her alma matter. For years the NBA wanted something like that, now they have it.

Harden MVP talk stopped at game 6. It shouldn't count, but after watching Harden in the last game of a season WB deserves it regardless of how you put it

Yep, watch everyone say "Westbrook was holding Durant back."

Meanwhile, all through the year this was the argument FOR Harden over Westbrook, that Harden enables his teammates to play their game, Westbrook simply doesn't.

It doesn't matter, one thing we are learning in this finals is that Curry is way beyond what Westbrook is despite his little triple doubles. It's not like Durant hasn't ever played with an MVP candidate before, it's just that now he's playing with one that is happy to share the ball.

The MVP vote was always about who the media liked the most and who would provide the best headlines. It was always going to be Westbrook.

The Astros are on a pace to tie the all time regular season wins total. The NBA hasn't had a close game in the playoffs in almost a month. They won't change their ways until YOU STOP GIVING THEM PATRONAGE.

Stop watching the NBA. Stop watching ESPN when it talks about the NBA. Just ignore it until the bottom line forces them to fix their systemic problem.

Not sure what your last sentence is trying to prove. They are announcing in July, but they still voted before the playoffs started. Why does it matter if they announce the votes in July as opposed to June?

Ha... are you just learning that in this Finals?

Dude was the unanimous MVP last year, his second in a row.

There has been no planet on which they play basketball where I would have taken Russ over Curry in choosing PGs for at least the last four years. I'd also take John Wall above Russ... but I'm probably a bigger Wall fan than most, and he wasn't great overall in the playoffs either.... And there's a bunch of other players that'd I'd generally take ahead of Russ in a draft any player type scenario. Lebron, KD, and Kawhi are obvious. Harden is a push.

I dgaf what anybody in the media thinks of the Rox... typically it's nothin but conjecture and speculation...it's all about the end results - period...

I also dgaf what the fanboys who spew Harden stats as if they matter think.. once again, it typically results in nothin but conjecture and speculation... and again, it's all about the results...

People need to stop getting so wrapped up in opinions - and push for results...

ESPN had us projected to be a mid level team = everybody gets all pissed off because they feel slighted...
We finish at #3 seed = everybody gets geeked because we 'performed beyond expectations'....

People need to lose the whole 'victim mentality' and quit placing so much emphasis on the opinions of idiots....

Of course, this is the same group that has many saying that despite their "superstar" setting turnover records and deciding not to show up, take a single shot or get a single rebound through the first quarter and half of an elimination game... and they're fine with it... and say we should be 'thankful' for said superstar... we should continue to build around him... well good luck building that house of straw... you reap what you sow...

I didn't say myself, I meant we, as in the general basketball public. There were and certainly has been many debates about whether Westbrook is the best PG in the NBA thus better than Curry.

That discussion ends if this series continues as it's been going.

I'm not going to stop watching the NBA. It's always been this way that 2-4 teams have a shot at a championship each year. This year it was the Warriors and Cavs, unfortunately, no other teams have been able to field teams to compete against these two teams. It is what it is, it's not the end of the NBA or anything.
