Just discussing this on another site, and wanted an opinion from the "otherside"

    Othella Harrington for Pike?

We badly need a back-up 2/3 who can nail the 3.

Harrington is JVG guy all the way.

    Thoughts?

But we'll send you Moochie, EG, and ManBoobs for Charlie Ward and Harrington.

Then, as a Knicks fan, you should be glad you're not their GM.

How about you replace Harrington with Thomas and we'll throw in Piatkowski and a $4 million trade exception?

I don't think we could trade Pike even if we wanted to. I believe that any signed player is required to remain with the team for a certain period of time after his signing - 6 months, maybe?

We just signed Pike as an FA. If we wanted an undersized backup F/C, we would have taken care of that in the summer. We got Pike because we needed some spot-up shooting to complement Yao's low-post game. I don't think we'd give up a complementary piece to solve a temporary problem at PF.

Mooch and Griff for Ward and Harrington?

I'd do it. Moochie's been horrible, and Griffin hasn't been around, but look at our record. Add Ward to be backup PG (can play more minutes than Mooch, and quality minutes) and Harrington to play right now, and when Mo comes back, he'll play backup 4/5.

Whow ould start at PG for NY if they traded Ward though?

Let's not forget that Ward and Harrington come off the books after this year. So that's another 6-7M, coupled with our own 6-7M exception, it's around 14M in cap relief.

I think Harrington has another year after this unless there's a team option I'm unaware of.

RealGM has Piatkowski as available for trade, although AG is not.

Houston trades: PG Moochie Norris (4.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 2.4 apg in 16.8 minutes)
    C John Amaechi (2.0 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 0.4 apg in 9.5 minutes)
PF Eddie Griffin (8.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.5 minutes)
Houston receives: PG Charlie Ward (7.2 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 4.6 apg in 22.2 minutes)
PF Othella Harrington (7.7 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 0.8 apg in 25.0 minutes)
Change in team outlook: 0.0 ppg, -0.3 rpg, and +1.5 apg.

New York trades: PG Charlie Ward (7.2 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 4.6 apg in 22.2 minutes)
PF Othella Harrington (7.7 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 0.8 apg in 25.0 minutes)
New York receives: PG Moochie Norris (4.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 2.4 apg in 82 games)
    C John Amaechi (2.0 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 0.4 apg in 50 games)
PF Eddie Griffin (8.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 77 games)
Change in team outlook: -0.0 ppg, +0.3 rpg, and -1.5 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Houston and New York being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Houston and New York had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out unless trade exceptions were used for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

This trade can be completed after Nov. 30th because Amaechi was recently traded to the Rox.

    I'd okay the Amaechi/Griff/Mooch for Ward/Harrington trade.

Anyone know how Othella's defense is? Specifically low-post.
