He didn't say he wanted 50% Chinese players in the leagues. Maybe at least a few. And by Gosh, we know all too well that some of those gosh-darn Chinese players might actually be good players.

But LOL at your statement. Yeah, I think the Commissioner has a reason to want to expand the NBA audience and care about money.

To be fair, the NBA is a business and there's nothing wrong with wanting to make more money as a business.

I don't know; I've watched some of those Chinese National Team games. Their guards are so bad... They need some sort of better youth skills programs.

    their national team is bad.

like @napalm_black said, their guards are terrible and their bigs are frail, weak, and unathletic. they don't make up for it with skill either.

The problem is the so-called good Chinese players all want guaranteed playing time and are not willing to be role players, and I doubt teams are willing to build around a Chinese player after seeing Yao Ming not getting any star calls despite being called a "star".
Forget the good players, Silver should just order the Warriors sign an average Chinese player who's willing to be a cheerleader like James Jones and play hard in garbage time.

another your problem nba. You should have cherished big yao when you had the chance, when that evil doer mark cuban called complaining about screens, you should have hung up on him instead of letting the refs adjust and target yao.

in an era of fake news fake t*** fake anything and everything, the fact that silver doesn't even try to conceal the fact that he's a shameless money-slurping w****... is actually quite refreshing. although he really should part with some of that cheddar to pay for an ear reduction procedure

I'm sure his future NBA career of 1.2 points and 2.5 rebounds will change the world as we know it.

Silver trying to hype up Zhou Qi.

Let's use this to our advantage and trade Qi for LeBron.

You would think with this statement Silver would at least allow the rockets into the national spotlight via the refs. We're constantly fighting a losing battle especially with the refs. Sounds much more like lip service.

The message is obvious. He would rather tokens in the league for the revenue than worry about actual competition.
