Has Israel sent any troops or financial support to help us in Iraq?

    I'm curious, I'm sure that others here would be more informed on this than I... but I have yet to hear of the Israeli role in assisting us in Iraq.. Have they sent troops? financial aid? intel? What is Israel's role in assisting us to help rebulid Iraq?

    Don't know this for a fact but I would suspect that an Israeli prescence in Iraq would be the rallying point for the mother of a jihads.

    Also, since Israel receives such a massive amount of US aid, money from Israel would just be more money from the US.

    We will never know but I suspect the US is receiving some assistance from Mossad's covert assets in Iraq.

    Israeli troops anywhere but Israel would cause much more trouble than what they are worth

    They helped train some of our forces, IIRC.

    I think its a shame that due to political and social reasons we're somewhat hamstrung as far as pulling in Isreali military forces into Iraq/Afghanistan..

    They would be very helpful.. But the points are well taken.. It would probably make the situation much worse overall...

    that would probably be the single worst thing that could happen. I'd hate to see what that would lead to.

    Sayeret Matkal did recon into Western Iraq before the war started to look for Scuds.

    Man, this situation is bad enough already. Bringing in Israeli troops would just signal The Four Horsemen.
