Ramadan Mubarak brehs! First Ramadan as a married man, so this one will be a little bit different! Anyways, may our wills be strong, and our deeds be great! May Allah forgive us for our sins, and bless us as he has already! May this Ramadan be everything you want it to be! Stay strong during these long days! May this Ramadan humble us and make us stronger than before!

Ramadan Mubarak bros. I tried intermittent fasting as part of my regular diet recently and it ended up being a spectacular failure. Good luck and best wishes to all.

I don't think fasting will help with weight loss but it will help the body in other ways (mental-emotional-immune system-hormonal balance etc)
a person hooked to a 1st generation of ventilation machine in a hospital most likely will be dependent on the ventilator within a few hours, the brain will conserve energy by shutting most of unneeded respiratory system function since a machine will do the job . This's why the ventilation units programmed to pause-starve the body from Oxygen supply (hypoxia) momentarily so the brain can reactivicate resporitail fucntion .

its the same concept, you starve the brain, glands ,internal organs from supply for a while and it may reactivate itself and optimally stimulate its needs . there're a few researches on how fasting can help autoimmune diseases,Alzheimer, parkinson disease or even seasonal allergies.

for the hunger part , I use the cheat code of Magnesium delayed release tablets (esomeprazole ) works like a charms

Yep, it was 16/8. I did it 7 days a week for a month. Have you tried this? Results?

I was on a 16 hour fast and 8 hours of feeding. I did see increased amounts of clarity and focus in the morning hours, but the quality of my food and diet discipline started to deteriorate since I would feel starved and somewhat tired.

I am fairly lean already as I'm a long distance runner, but I was trying to cut some extra fat to reduce overall body fat percentage. Now I'm back on my regular diet, and am back to my more disciplined eating habits.

If I attempt this diet again, I'll look into the tablets. Had no idea people use PPI's for this purpose.

Not Muslim but my best homie is so out of solidarity I fast with him from sun up to sundown. Yesterday the sun rose at 6:40 and set at 8: freaking 27. Our iftar lentils and rooh afza brought me back to life. I was better about breakfast today so I'm maintaining plus my stomach knows my homie's mom is making haleem so knowing I'm gonna eat til I pass out tonight gives me hope lol. Ramadan Mubarak brothers and sisters

My schedule doesn't allow for it but I know people who have had great success. The science behind it is completely legit. The great part is you can take it long term and still follow any path you want for what to actually eat. Some people have dietary restrictions etc.

I have been doing 16/8 for a while now, and also throwing in some 24 hour (dinner to dinner) fasts as well. I find I eat better overall, because knowing that I have limited eating periods, if I eat junk there is no time to make up for it with a nutritious meal latter. I want to work into longer fasts pretty soon. The best part of the 24 hour is that I feel spectacular the day following the break. Muslims, you guys have have the right idea with this fasting business. It just makes me nervous that you don't drink any water. I guess it's good for the will, but it's not good for the body.

Thank you sir! my wife isn't Muslim so she's adjusting with how to interact with me during the day. Also not just eating whatever I want (when I'm not with family) working around both her and my preferences. Introducing her to cultural differences with Ramadan. Just being married in general is quite different to be honest

Over a third of the way there, the sleep deprivation and dehydration are starting to kick in right on time. Here's to another 20ish days!
