The Sonics are about to lose their first game to Atlanta leaving Houston on top of the West with the Lakers! With Sacramento also losing tonight and the Rox playing lowly Miami next, it looks like we might be enjoying our new status for a few more days more. Anyone care to speculate how we will do against Dallas and Phoenix? I say we lose away to Dallas in a close one but beat up on the Suns at home.
it is sweet and itll be sweet for rest of the sseason and playoffs............wat yall think, can we keep this or no

I'll try to be optimisitic but last year's repeated spankings by the Mavs makes me a bit hesitant to pull the trigger and predict a 6-1 start with a victory over the Mavs. They just seem to have our number for some damn reason and I am not sure we are going to match up well against their forwards without Taylor and Griffin. Let's keep our fingers crossed...
Is that winless Miami you talk about? All we need to do is throwing our tough D at them, and see wade and odom stink it up with outside shots.
I wouldn't go on last year's performance, they started the season burning last year, this year they are still learning to play together. We just might sneak one in before they gel. But I guess I'm too optimistic.
speaking of which... will there be a bit of history made that night? I don't think theres ever been two brothers as head coaches coaching against eachother in a game. I doubt theres ever been two brothers as head coaches in the league. That'll be an interesting side attraction for some to pay attention to.
I just love the fact that we are starting off fast. The one team that we have been afraid of for the past year, Pheonix, is only 2-3! I can't wait to see if we can stay in the top 4. Steve wants it bad enough, and I think Yao still isn't at 100%... Anything is possible!
I'm not looking past the Miami game. I think you always have to fear teams suffering in long losing streaks, especially the ones you have yet to put a W on the board for the season. You know that with each loss, they are getting more and more desperate to win one. They might not have the talent, but I'd expect them to fight hard. The Rockets need to pay attention and take care of business.
you are correct, this is a first brother on brother coaching matchup, and when GS goes to LAC, it will be the first father(coach) on son(player) matchup(Dunleavy Sr. vs. Dunleavy Jr.)
I sure hope we don't take Miami for granted, we've lost to them the past couple of years when they were suppose to suck. Miami ALWAYS gives us trouble.
The only surprise so far this season are the 4-2 Jazz. Btw, note the MemphisX... whatever happened to the playoff bound Grizz?
I don't think we can beat Dallas. None of our F's can defend Jamison or Walker, and Nowitzki will play Yao equally at C. JJ, Boki, Braggs, Cato, Pike, AG >> None of these guys match up well with Jamison or Walker. Our best hope is that AG is back by that time, and plays some decent minutes on ONE of them, and Braggs puts in the best performance of his career against the other. We can't outscore their backcourt like we do other teams, Nash and Finley are pretty damn good. The Mavs SHOULD win based on their overwhelming talent. However, maybe the Rockets' excellent defense will prove even more overwhelming.
