So I think we agree... firing Comey could be seen as an obstruction of justice. But a key difference between Trump and "Democrats"... Trump *did* fire him...

Of course they would have, that's not even a question and trying to score points against the conservative crusaders on this is utterly useless(not that you are trying to). It's interesting that the goal posts keep moving with such rapidity--it's hard to keep up with such an "active" president unless you are in the golf cart with him.

Asking him to stop the Flynn investigation might be a little abuse of power intended to change the course of justice, but by itself I don't think it's much of a prosecutable much less impeachable crime. Being the independent FBI Director that he is, Comey just declined the request and it would not have been a big deal since Trump, according to McCabe, hadn't done anything to actually impede their work. If that one conversation stood alone, I don't think that's any sort of case. Where it became a bigger deal is the day Trump fired Comey. The memo about the request to stop the Flynn investigation suggests something about Trump's motivations for firing Comey -- because he's a showboater and a grandstander, Comey wouldn't be satisfied with forcing Flynn out of government, he wanted to get a prosecution too. Trump didn't do anything to try to obstruct the investigation until he retaliated against Comey for refusing to stop the investigation. I don't see anything to reproach in how Comey has handled this.

Do you trust the reporter who broke the Hillary server story? He's the same guy who broke this story.

Logged in for first time ever to remind you that Gowdy exposed the private server... Not a reporter

Gowdy found out the server had been bleached. Michael Schmidt broke the story about the secret server .

You're getting your news from infowars or some ****.

Well alright then. One can use deduction and reasoning skills to mentally go over the various scenarios to reach an opinion on the matter.

This is called politics, it happened 8 years under Obama with conservatives reacting to every little thing that led to wishful thinking. I also fully believe that the Trump administration is purposefully leaking out some things to see who is talking to the press. I am big believer in these situations that the truth is somewhere between.

    Very well.

I agree that we don't need a scandal every other day, but folks aren't going to let up on Trump. I personally despise the man and everything he stands for, the truth doesn't matter so much anymore, so just keep throwing jabs at Trump. He'll crack in a very bigly way, he's just too weak.

It's not about trusting a reporter, it's about evidence. If there was no server ever found, then there would be no case against Hillary and the server would be just unsubstantiated rumor. In this instance, it's a 3rd party allegedly reading a note that someone wrote after a meeting.....that's not real evidence because even if Comey comes out and says that the note is legit it would boil down to a "he said, she said" situation where neither party has credibility because one party is a disgruntled former employee who was recently fired who is admitting that he didn't do the right thing at any point since February if his story is true and the other is Donald Trump.

Like I said, it might absolutely be true, but that's not what matters....what matters is what can be proven. Of course, that is if the goal was ever to prosecute.

Good lord if Paul Ryan ends up as President I swear. All Pence had to do was go hide and never say anything and watch the clown self implode. But his hands might not be clean either in all of this. I thought God would guide him to the truth or something like that?

Comey's testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee on May 3, 2017 (15 days ago)

    http://www.redstate.com/streiff/2017/05/17/did-comey-lie-to-congress/

So either Comey was lying before congress OR he never felt at the time he was testifying that Trump's comments were akin to any "Obstruction of Justice"...

It's the latter. It wasn't a big deal to him at the time. He even suggested why there. Future actions can change people mind, and we don't even know if it did change his mind. All we know so far is quite limited - Trump asked him to not investigate. Trump fired him some time later.

In personal life, I'm sure most of us has an experience along the line of -- Someone tell us something that is not appropriate, but we just look away and we don't really know what that person intention was or how serious they were about it. Then later, they actually act on it in some way. That can change our mind on the seriousness and intention of that person.

Funny how people wanting indisputable evidence before criticizing trump are quick to jump on hearsay when it comes to the Clintons.
