Yeah, that's what the top one was supposed to be. I ask only because I've always said it with the H, but I moved away too young to remember how everybody else said it. I work with a guy from Lockhart (I think he said) and he was saying how he's heard people who live in Texas say it both ways, so I figured I'd go to the source.
I've heard plenty of on air personalities pronounce it "Yew-ston." It drives me nuts. Definitely "Hew-ston"
I have... but he was born and raised in Alabama until he was 12 or so.... But he calls Htown his hometown. He also calls it "Yewston".
My dad says "you-sten" or "yew-ston" and he grew up there... but maybe that's because he grew up on the north side near UMBLE. Or is it Humble? Umble, humble, Youston, Houston... whatever. I voted for the first option... as it's written.
Dave Attell on Comedy Central's Insomniac, during the Houston episode, pronounced it "Yew-ston" the whole dang show. Annoyed the crap out of me.
