Yes! We're up a game on the whole midwest right now. Yao Ming had a subpar night capped off with the T, but I think it's still more of that early season jitter stuff and will only get better. Our backcourt was mostly responsible for this win tonight. T-mac is still struggling shotting 20 percentile tonight.

Although I like Yao's 6 off rebounds but I aren't too hot on that. Magic is a team who simply can't rebound. Yao's 18 shots and a T are good signs though.

Sterve Francis and Cutino Mobley were just great to-night it almost reminded of times gone by. Our Guards are the ones winning games for the Rockets. Who needs Yao Ming he is just terrible, he cant catch all the bad passes and he is out of position for nearly every play. The ball thank goodness is being mostly taken and passed on the side where Yao isnt posting.Mobley and Francis are the perfect compliment for each other! Go Jvg Go Rockets 4-1 1st in the Mid-West. Viva Dribble Mania.

Yes, we are on top now. I watched tonight. Yao was thinking too much tonight. I guessed it was because he was in the process of changing his game. He wanted to be aggressive; but obviously he didn't not understand what that really mean. So, he got a technical. Also, he often hesitated in both ends. That was the same reason he got the 3-second violation. He seemed to debate himselve whether to go left or right several times at the edge of the paint before being caught.

    True.

Both Steve and Cat played good D. I love it when they power through he picks at no concern for their bodies. They throw caution to the wind...whatever it takes, guard your man, hand in face!

You said it... That guy just has a knack for rebounds and put-backs.

He didn't score tonight. But still! He's just "knows" how to position himself.

By the way, 5 of those were offensive rebounds. Very difficult to get.

I am not surprised at this. Of course, people, who want the offence run through Yao, would call out Francis for not passing...

There is nothing wrong, I believe. If there must be someone the offence runs through, I choose Yao.

Yao only made 6 of 18 from the field? Geez, that sucks. It's gonna mess up his field goal percentage big time.

I noticed that too. He did go for offence rebounds. In fact, had he not yielded some rebounds to his teamates (Cato and Francis a couple each, I recalled), he should have more. That was another sign that he was changing his game. His shots, hook shots, in particular were always short. A few times, he was pushed while he was taking the shot. Some other times, he was hesitating in between a hook shot or a fade away. I think, his hesitation had a lot to do with his poor shooting.

After the game, I look at his stat. That might be bad for his standard. But that is actually better than the other big men, Cato and Braggs. And of course, better than JJ. I had to give the credit to their 7 ft. centre Hunter and 6-9 Howard, who were playing well. That caused our big men to cover for the other big man all the time.

Besides the win, the most encouraging stats for me is Yao's 18 shot attempts! Yao is aggressive, even though his shots are off. He started shooting lots of fadeway jumpers, then near the end of game, he tried more to back his man closer to the paint and shot much closer to the basket. The T and the missed two-handed jam are awesome. His aggression was clearly there.

Francis is playing like the best PG in the league tonight. Lots of high percentage shots, lots of defense. Mobley is taking high % shots too. Yao, Cao, and Braggs all have double digit rebound!

The team is going on the right direction. It's going to be an exciting season! Can we say contender?

Yao was trying to play more aggresive and take more responsibility for the team tonight. If you think yao is terrible just let the owner trade him. I dont think rockets in the good team for Ming.

Who cares about Yao's percentage. He's just having an off night. As long as he keeps playing aggressive, his shots will fall eventually and Rockets will win. Glad to see our guards shooting well tonight.

To be fair to our big men, the reasons why we got all those open perimeter shots in the first half was because Magic double and treble team our big man in the paint. At one point, we had six or seven treys.

Then our guards really played well in the second half. Most of their shots were created through penetration.
