Some new info.... Just went over to Cox again and they said they were still "in negotiations" with the Rockets. But they did say this. They WILL show all possible games they can on ch. 15. And the Rockets will get priority over the Spurs and Mavs games. One thing they mentioned might help is if we actually email the Rockets and let them know there are a lot of ppl here in C.S. that want to watch the game. The Rockets and Cox just need to talk. Damn apathy kills all.
The Rockets have been screwing it up with the networks ever since they left Fox. They are not worried about this year, they are more worried about next year when they have their own regional network. Right? Tim ! DD
Us College Station folks really need to make it a part of our daily routine to harass Cox. I'm thinking that I will call Cox on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and visit their office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If they end up not showing the games, then we should harass the local bars. Who's with me?
AgRocket, I have been asking that we do the same for a while now. I am with you for sure. I have been by the cox office twice this week, and called a couple times. Truth is, Im not sure how much of this is Cox's fault. They have actually been trying to contact and negotiate this all out with the Rockets. It's the Rockets who are dragging here. They haven't gotten back to Cox. Today, Cox told me to try and email the Rockets and tell them that there are lots of ppl here in Bryan/CS that want to watch these games. It's really all up to the Rockets at this point. But still, if we keep onto Cox, they will keep onto the Rockets. So whatever needs to be done, im down.
So both sides are blamming the other for not having a deal struck. Great...we aren't going to get anywhere. Tim said the rockets are trying to strike the deal, they are just waiting for COX to do something, he said they are more than ready to set up a deal. So can yall make the deal...PLEASE!!! Just called the corporate office of Cox. I talked to a lady that actually seemed to want to find out what the hell is going on. After I explained everything, and included that we were getting the runaround here in CS, she went to ask her supervisor.....he wasn't in, but she took my name and number down and was going to try and get a hold of him somehow. Thinking this could be another runaround, i just respectfully informed her that we were going to keep calling and asking until we got some solid info. She replied, "I want to find out too, we've had plenty of calls." I'll let ya'll know what she says. Any word on the game on any channel/bar for tonight???

She did call back and said no new information on it... surprise surprise... Their records just show, 'under negotiation'. I know im not done bothering them though.
Unfortunately now you guys feel how bad it was for us when Dishnetwork and Dishnet didn't have channel 51 on their local channel list because they never filed to be included in the local package. Then here comes the rockets to 51 and they had a million people call them and they had to work out furius negotiations to get it on after about 20 or so games already went by.
Thanks for the updates guys. It seems like a lot of us are doing a good job harassing Cox. Let's just keep it up and eventually they will have to do something. Keep posting new info as you get it.
CS Folks, We should be like the NY Rockets' fans and have a sports bar where we can all hook up to watch the Rockets. Some place like the Fox & Hound or the Tap. Watching the Rockets is all much more fun when it is with a group. Tell me if you guys are up for it and maybe we can set something up.

Bad news: It was Silk Sockings (aka, the Dirty Sock) Good news: The Rockets looked good in a sweet win Bad news: I was actually able to focus on the game. AgRocket, Like the idea of getting together to watch the game at a bar..... But what bar besides the dirty sock???? Fox & Hound hasn't been showing them, and i don't know anyone who has.....let me know though.
Gentlemen, any news why Fox n Hound is not (can not?) showing the Rox games? I was actually very surprised to catch the game at the DS and inquired why/how it was to be of the demure (and bored enough to hang with me, sans drink, though I offered) 'Chrystal'. She mentioned they had a Houston cable/satelite (?) feed.... Anyway, their only tv (32" tops (less than Chrystals' bust size ) is only visible from the bar and admittedly not ideal..... Still, it would be cool to have a B/CS rally here if no where else.
I think it'd be cool to meet up with some other BCS folks to watch a Rockets game too. I wouldn't be caught dead in silk skankings though. There's gotta be a better place we can find. I'm not into bars, but if it was a bar & grill type place like Bennigan's or Chili's , I probably wouldn't mind that. Bombay Bicycle Club used to be a great place to go and watch sports.
