No one's offering. And he'd probably take Texas if it was offerred...he said he would like to find a job that doesn't have to compete with Bob but he'd still look at the school as a possibility...

    I'm guessing no.

As much as I hate the aggies, they are clearly rebuilding. Slocum wouldn't have fared much better today. Give Fran a few years.

my only question is why are these clowns so good? OU doesn't have much of a schedule! It's just funny, there like this every year and then they choke. They will choke in the Big 12 game leaving the door wide open for a USC Vs FSU sugar showdown.

You don't know what you're talking about. They haven't been this good in at LEAST 15 years....Not much of a schedule? Huh? Their Strength of Schedule was like 7 in last week's BCS...

It'd be one thing if we were just barely getting by, but man, 77 to zero? I've never seen sh*t like this before.

    "They're like this every year?"

    Please.

Talk about ugly. That's the worst beating I think I've ever seen a team take. Even the OU second team was kicking A&M around like a Division III team. UT is lucky they never have to play in Norman.

    Errrp.

They never crossed their own 40. A DIII team should be able to cross the 40 on any D1A team in the land, at least once.

I mean, think about it. All those possessions. All those kick returns. Never past the 40.

Almost blows your mind. In fact, not having watched the game before the 4th quarter (stupid commitments)... I couldn't believe the stats. Surely, nobody is that bad...

Nope... not FSU. They got it handed to them by Clemson.

    Stupid Bowden Bowl.

btw- I thought this was the "game thread." That was no game. 77-0 is one team showing up for practice with a bunch of tackling dummies.

And the more the Horns win, the more impressive 65-13 looks. The scary thing? The Sooners have improved since the RRS, and are the most disciplined college football team I've every seen. Their talent level is no different than the other teams in the top-10. But their guys are so well conditioned, and so well coached that they have a huge advantage over every opponent. Guys like Dan Cody, Mark Clayton, and Jejuan Rankins were not very heralded, yet have been playing at a very high level.

Having played on a medicore (at least then mediocre) D3 school I have to agree. Yes we probably would have given up TD's to OU until they just fell over out of exhaustion. But we still had OL's that were just a hair to short or slow to get a ride somewhere, and were still 6'2" 280. Our backs weren't as big as D1's and maybe a step or 2 slower, but I'd like to think we would have gotten more than 54 yards of offense. A&M just looked horrible today, and this is coming from a lifelong Aggie fan. I hope they can put this behind them and play out the year, then reload next year a year older, a year stronger, and a year wiser.

I could disagree with you on the talent level...I think they're on a level along with maybe 2 or 3 other teams above everyone else...

But anyway....Texas looks good now...Maybe now if they played it'd be more like 55-30. ;)

OU is downright scary. It's amazing to me the confidence Stoops brings to those players. If any team has a right to showboat, taunt and trashtalk their opponents, it's OU. But you never see it. Never. Not even against UT (besides an occasional upsidedown hook 'em). They are the most disciplined college team I've ever seen. It's like they're on a mission and they just don't have time for all that nonsense.

People say Stoops is arrogant, but I don't see it. It's more a quiet confidence and it rubs off on his entire team. They're just going to kick your ass for 60 minutes, then move on to the next game. All business.

Stoops and co. are the best staff in the country. It's not even an opinion, it's a fact. I don't think you would get an argument from anyone who knows anything about football.

Eh, looks like Mack has yet again managed to salvage the season, his job, and the jobs of his coordinators.

No changes will be made until we have at least a 4-loss season, which will not happen this year. Tech will be a tough game, but there is no way in hell we will lose to A&M following a Tech loss.

How has OU managed to stockpile so many 4-star and 5-star recruits at QB? We have one redshirt freshman at QB, and apparently that was enough to scare away lifelong Texas fan Rhett Bomar. I mean...OU has Thompson(Their dual-threat QB), Allen, and Grady(6'6 monster, top-flight recruit)...If Vince Young really was the reason why we lost Bomar, why did he choose Oklahoma, who have more top prospects at QB?

I think these next few recruiting years are going to be a huge separating factor between OU and the rest of the country. The days when OU grabbed the Texas recruits that slipped through the cracks are over. This year, it looks like they will grab the top two recruits in Texas: Adrian Peterson(From everything I have heard, a once in a decade type of RB) and Bomar(Will probably take the starting spot during his redshirt freshman season)

Umm, let me see the facts that shows they are the best staff in the country. :0
Much as everyone loves to disrespect the DEFENDING NCAA champs (who BTW have played without their best offensive player, who have lost their QB for almost 3 entire games and beaten 3 very good non-cenference opponents), Jim Tressel also won a Championship in his second year and if OSU can win out (vs top 12 rated Purdue and Michigan) they may overtake USC in the BCS polls (this comes not from me but a BCS expert on a sports talk station sayinf if OSU can get to third in the polls that the computers and SOS will greatly favor OSU and may be enough to offset teh one place in the polls).

So is Stoops good, yes. Is he the best, well if he finishes first this year then I'll admit it.

PS- Interesting fact is Stoopes and Tressel are both from the same area, Youngstown Ohio.

Well, I actually thought we were going to lose. Just not as bad as we did.

About Bomar-He was not a lifelong Texas fan. It was pretty much known he wanted to go to OU for awhile. If you want to complain, complain about our staff focusing on him and ignoring Reid from North Shore (Who probably would have commited) if we offered him.

OU might not have been taking in the TOP talent in Texas, but you don't really know if there is that much difference between #1 Receiver and #10, etc. Not only that, but players are actually developed, disciplined, and coached properly up there. That's what makes their players talented. What's really scary is that they are now beating Texas in recruiting and picking up top national players as well.
