Taylor is Rockets' second-highest paid player, signed a six-year, $48.75 million contract in 2001. He's an injury machine ever since. He's been out of shape, overweight and is still somewhat at injury. Another fat contract given out to someone didn't even deserve to receive. Folks like Moochie Norris, Cato... Oh man, what was in Rudy T's mind? Taylor's busted for drug violations, and also the problem of Eddie Griffins... definitely another big hit on the team. Feel sorry for Van Gundy having to clean up the big mess left behind by Rudy T.

So where exactly did Rudy's duties end, in you basher's minds? Does Carrol Dawson just carry around people's jock straps? I was under the impression that it was the general manager's job to negotiate contracts and get players to sign extensions. Why not rail on CD for a while instead of beating this dead tired horse named Rudy?

We can rail on both of them. Maybe we're paying the price for our championships. They've both been great things to this franchise and now they've shoved it into near laughingstock status the last few years. Ugh... :(

First of all Rudy didn't force a joint into TAylor's mouth, put a gun to his head and force him to inhale. Secondly Rudy didn't insert chemicals into Eddie's brain and cause him to become depressed, or force Eddie to get involved with the wrong people. The actions these players took were nobody's fault but their own. For what it's worth Eddie didn't have to check himself into a hospital while on Rudy's watch. Yet I don't blame Van Gundy beause of what's happened while he was the coach.

Should we give Rudy credit because we didn't have as many lame threads while he was the coach, and blame Van Gundy for threads like these?

You gripe about Cato's contract, but Cato's contract is in-line with what other centers in the league are making, and Cato is earning that money right now. Considering what happened with EG and Mo, I think we are very lucky to have Cato.

Me too. Shoulda, coulda, woulda...

Funny thing is, most of the people who moan about all of our lame contracts are the same people who cried when we didn't sign Posey. Isn't it ironic...don't cha think?

I don't know about anyone else, but I HATED the contract when he signed it. The dude is not a complete player. He is a soft PF who doesn't even shoot 50%, can't play D, and just looks like a bum out there. He's that one guy on the court who pretends he has all the moves but settles for the jumper every time.

Rudy could draft pretty well (except for Eddie), but these contracts are horrendous.

hey, junior, wasn't it C Dawson the GM, whose responsibility it is to sign contracts. more than anyone else, C Dawson deserves the blame.

We would have more problems...dont you remember? Kenny the"real" black hole Thomas! He shot every time he had the ball and would not pass and he was the biggest baby and selfish player we had. He would not be a good fit for us.

I hope Rox can learn the lessons:

    1. Never sign anybody with a drug problem.
    2. Don't draft a kid without thourough background checks
    3. Hire more experienced international draft experts. International players have less character problems, they can be left overseas for talent development without pay, and when they come, they contribute immediately at cheap rate.

With NO high draft picks in the future, the only way we get cheap talent is to get better at talent evaluation. Pray we can get a Parker, a Ginobilli through draft.

When I posted here I forgot that Djunior never comes back to discuss the points he brought up. It's a waste to post here, and I'm guilty.
