His Father is from Angola, right next to the Congo. Big dicks down there also. So 50/50 Congo/Angola balls. Pretty huge.
I remember those games from the first half of the 2014-15 season. It was painful to watch him out there. If you look at those "highlights", he almost single-handedly made a 20-point blowout win into a competitive game in the final minutes. There was another game at the Lakers where he couldn't even catch an alley-oop for a dunk. The growth he showed from just the beginning of that year to later in the season when he had to play in place of Dwight(who was held out of B2Bs) was amazing. And to see where's he come in less than 3 years overall is incredible. If you polled most GMs right now, they'd probably take Capela over Dwight.
even 7/7 averages (that came with 2 bpg ) from ur startign center is good for playoffs. just make sure there's someone to split minutes with at center he turned into a borderline all star vs the stacked spurs bigs
I believe he missed the 1st 15 free throws of his career as well. Now he's shooting better than 50% from the line. He's improved a lot, and that's a testament to his work ethic and dedication. Capela has certainly made Dwight obsolete. What a great find by Morey.
My favorite/frustrating thing about Capela is that it seems like once a game he challenges a shot at the rim and he gets an hand, elbow, or forearm right to the face. Protect yourself Clint!!!
Spoiler: Only true fans would know lol jp Easy.. #3: Nick Johnson #30: Troy Daniels #15: Clint Capela #8: Ray Lewis.. aka Joey Dorsey #16: Omri.. I mean Kostas Papanikolaou
The Rockets have gotten a real big man without having to give up any assets In the long run it's gonna be one of Morey's best moves
I've been particularly impressed by his rim protection lately. He's always had decent block numbers due to his jumping ability, but never really could intimidate anyone. Now he's erasing shots from guys that should have him beat and keeping it in bounds. That adds a lot of doubt into players' minds. When you feel a shot blocker in the area it really makes it hard to finish strong. I didn't expect him to hold his own against experienced post players like Aldridge and Gasol either.
What's exciting about Clint, is that we are seeing little flashes of a developing low post game. The little hook shot. Putting the ball on the floor and taking it to the hoop. It's coming.
Very impressed with him this series especially his rebounding. Also his free throw shooting has improved so much. It just shows you how pathethic Dwight was with the lack of effort to improve his FT shooting.
