i know there is a lot of construction going on in Houston but we don't need Rudy Gay's expensive bricks. We already got cheap in house bricks with Samuel Dekker
It all depends on what he wants. Does he choose Houston? How much? How many years? With the right answers to these things, I think it's a no brainer, but I wouldn't chase him too hard.
If we unload one of Ariza or Gordon for a max player and we can pick up Gay for peanuts afterwards sure. Rudy is going to be the guy waiting until everyone else signs and there will be little to nothing left for him.
Hell no, unless the price tag is close to the vet min on a one year deal to play with a contender and prove that he is healthy... dude is coming off the worst injury in sports, and maybe wont even be ready for the season... mid season maybe. Some stupid team will throw money on him.... His Agent is stupid... he could have exercised his option and just basically sat out year while collecting that a hefty check... would have been super good to go in 2018.
Figured you'd be going here since you kept insisting he wouldn't opt out. These guys aren't stupid. They know Gay's market. They also want to get out of Sacramento and go play on a contender. There's more involved than just money here. That's why I told you after he got injured that he would still likely opt out. He wants out of Sacramento......period. By the way He could still be traded. He'd have to agree to not opt out. Or he could be signed and traded in the summer. But he's been very consistent about leaving Sacramento. Doesn't want to be there. And willing to risk some money to get out. But that risk is actually low. He'll probably get it all back and then some in the first year of a new deal because there's a lot of money still on the table. But even if he doesn't he's going to go play for a team and a system that he wants to play in.
