    What do we lose with Mo out for 10 games?
    Nothing
    The Rockets are scoring 13 more points than their opponents this year. When Mo Taylor comes in, our defense slightly lacks. When Mo Taylor goes out, our offense slightly lacks.
    Basically, we gain defense, lose offense. We will still score 13 points more than opponents and we will still win. Losing Motay does not matter.

    Starting to know how those Portland BluntBLAZERS fans do.

    Oh please give us some real athletes that won't abuse themselves and the team. Were not frickin' world champs, so can we please not fall apart before we get the thing rollin'.

    The following are statements from Mo Taylor himself, back in Oct.27.

    As far as image is concerned, people are going to think what they want to think," Rockets forward Maurice Taylor said. "It's sad that it happened with Eddie, but people are going to judge him anyway. It's on the front page of the newspaper, so there's not really anything he can do about that. Just get back and do the things he's capable of doing on the basketball court. It happened. People are going to think things about him.

    "It's going to be a hard time for him for the next couple of weeks. I don't think it's anything he should be worried about. He should be worried about getting himself together before worrying about how he's looked at from the public."

    Taylor went through similar scrutiny of public opinion when he was found in violation of the NBA's substance abuse policy in December 2001. He said then that he had used mar1juana. He has not had any public incidents since.

    Griffin faces a mar1juana possession charge and had been suspended indefinitely from the team for missing the team's trip to Sacramento and several practices.

    "First of all it's an embarrassment," Taylor said. "When something like that happens, your business is all out on the street, and things you didn't want people to know come to light. But the thing about it, you can't just hold on to it.

    "You have to admit you're wrong, do whatever it takes, in his case with a suspension, to get back on the court. Things happen. You don't want them to happen. You pray something like this doesn't happen. But it's just (about) how you deal with it."

    I'm really serious about this. I want this loser off our team. The man lacks character. He has achieved a height of hipocrisy few would have dared to, speaking like that while he was getting himself stoned.

    Unbelievable. No character and no honor whatsoever. mar1juana is not an addiction like smoking cigarretes. It's like you have to make that much of an effort to stay away from it.

    Wether it should be legalized or not is not the point. The point is that such stupidity and lack of respect for your employer would get your a$$ fired anywhere else.

    Charles Oakley, anyone?

    *sigh*

    First griffin and now this!

    i can't wait to hear what mo taylor will have to say. do you think he will have a press conference like last time and admit "i used mar1juana" and apologize to the fans? i think we are past the point of damage/image control and it would be useless. he is due 7.8 million this year, so that means 10 games is worth about 950k.

    I rather have Cato or Braggs on the court instead of Puff Taylor anyways. I say give the Eddie a chance and get rid of this waste of cap space!

    interesting fact: while i was checking the rocket's player salaries, this is the first year we don't have to pay maloney!! maloney is off the books. he was paid 2.75 million last year, assuming he didn't play with any other team.

    HA! screw mo taylor. Our team was counting on him and he pulls this crap? Completely unacceptable. The worst thing about this whole ordeal is that we cannot really punish Mo enough for what he has done. What can we do, trade him? Hell no. No one wants an undersized, nonrebounding, pot smoking power forward. We can't cut him, cause we still have to pay him. Basically, Mo has screwed the team. No, certainly not best wishes to Motay.

    Mo is absolutely crazy. He comes back from an injury and starts doing better and then he blows it again on drugs. He has let the team down badly. We will miss his scoring. Cato can defend but can't score much and Braggs is a backup player. I think that Cato will have to play a lot more at the 4 now and that will put more pressure on Yao to score heavily.
    It's shocking to hear about one setback after another.

    no need to panic. moT is a needed, viable scoring option, but I hardly think that the Rockets will be screwed without him. i mean on this roster he should only get 15 minutes a game, some of these can go t braggs. he's a defensive liability against bigger 4's, too slow to guard the threes... we'll be fine when adrian griffin and piatowski comes back, which will be soon. there are no immediate needs, Orlando and Miami are horrible, hopefully those other two will be able to play by Dallas.

    So much for beating Dallas next week... or Portland.

    The Rockets should still go 8-2 in his absence, however. Anything less would be an embarassment to the rest of the team.

    ORL W
    MIA W
    @DAL L
    PHO W
    @TOR W
    @PHI W
    GS W
    @POR L
    @LAC W
    @UTA W

    If the Rockets can't do that, then the entire team should be suspended. Taylor couldn't have been suspended at a better time, as the schedule is relatively light. (MIA, TOR, PHI, LAC, and UTA are all teams the Rockets should beat with blindfolds on and their arms tied behind their backs.)

    On a positive note, we may be better off for this. Maybe, we will give EG another chance! Maybe EG comes back with a vengeance!

    Unless I have my leagues confused, Its entirely possible that he didn't test positive and that he actually just missed the test (which counts the same as if he had tested positive).

    If he actually test positive again, then he is stupid.

    If he missed the test, then he is irresponsible AND stupid.

    I didn't read all of the replies so forgive me if I need it, BUT

    Don't they only test in TRAINING CAMP?

    How can you not sober up long enough to pass the once a year drug test when you know exactly when it is going to be?

    Unbelievable.

    Mo is a screw up. Anybody think there is a chance that Griffen might get a chance to come back and play during Mo's 10 game suspenstion?
