Final results are in and as expected Emmanuel Macron wins with over 65% to become the new president.

Really happy that LePen's outdated nationalism and protectionism has no ground in civilised Western Europe. Poor Vladimir spend millions to destabilise Europe, now his favored right extremists lost three elections in a row. He also tried desperately on Friday to make a difference in leaking useless documents from Macron's party. Not working here.

A lot of work to do for Macron, the country is divided and he will have to make a lot of unpopular decisions.

Final sidenote: LePen today locked out several media to her party, of course the ones who were the most critical on her. Just another example of her understanding of democracy.

The nationalism/populism is a scary combination, the late 19th and early 20th century was not a very stable time.

Le Pen was a horrible candidate with horrible policy ideas, and she lost. Obama endorsed a winner.

Not really. We just, you know, care about the planet. A stable, united Europe, while not appealing to your boss, makes world war less likely. The whole original point of the E.U. is to avoid the conflicts that have ****ed them up for hundreds of years, and in the last century, of course, ****ed up the entire planet in two horrific bursts. May we never their like again.

EDIT: gloating is a pretty good word though, so kudos to your English tutor.

What's sad is that you actually believe what you write. Shows your ignorance.

    (and I'm glad Macron won)

Pretty funny, coming from a guy living in the USA and rooting for right-wing nutjob candidates that would turn Europe to ****.

It's fully understandable that many US citizens are sad when seeing how a complete clown got elected into oval office, while the majority of European voters don't fall for cheap politicians and elect respectable candidates.

I wish you would go back to school. You really do need to broaden your horizons, and your sources for news. All you do here is repeat the latest "Alt-Right" crap from the extremist websites that helped the Russians and the Director of the FBI install Mr. trump in the White House. Now you're sad that an extreme, far-right, Russian supported French candidate had her ass handed to her by a 39 year old centrist. So sad that you are casting a net in search of targets to attack, because in your mind, just like in Mr. trump's immature mind, the fault cannot be laid at the feet of the person who lost. Not if that person was supported by you. It's always someone else's fault.

Equating Trump to Le Pen and AfD in Germany is really lazy and ignorant of you. (even though you are part of the incredibly wise and enlightened European voting pool!)

A decade ago National Front was pulling less than 5 percent. 35 percent vote is a victory for them because it's showing that the tide is turning. Only a matter of time.
