Pretty cool bracket. But looks like Spurs would still face and probably lose to the Warriors, Cavs would face and probably lose to the Warriors - which i think will happen this year, just different rounds. Either matchup is a good final. I think the Rockets would lose in rd 2 either way, I think Utah would beat them. As far as conferences go. I don't mind your format. But I also enjoy conference format. It's true that they get uneven -- 80s West sucked, 2000s East - but I still enjoy conference rivalries. Even though my Pacers mostly were on the losing end of those, I enjoyed Pacers having to go through LeBron, Jordan, Ewing's Knicks and Billups Pistons almost every year. It was memorable. It was painful to lose, then it was fun when we were up in the series and "revenge" was close, then it was even more painful to be knocked down to earth again.
A lot of people in other threads have said that the playoffs have been boring and anticlimactic, especially the conference runs of the Warriors and Cavs. And "what" has a thread on radical changes to create Parity that are too far fetched to ever happen. But I bump this thread to point out how just getting just rid of conferences playoff setup in favor of a 1-16 seeded tournament setup alone would have improved the playoffs tremendously. If 1-16 setup was adopted this year, wouldn't the playoffs have been much more competitive and entertaining?
The cavs and warriors still run through all the teams and we're still here with the warriors still being way better than everybody else.
