ClutchFans Game Thread: Spurs @ Rockets 5/7/2017 (Playoffs Round 2, Game 4)

Hopefully I'm called into work this night so i don't have to see this game live.

 

Adjustment: More 3's and more lay ups

 

In 2009, the Rockets were down at home 2-1 against the Lakers. Missing Yao and Deke to injury, the remaining Rockets played their guts out eventually falling in game 7.

There was no star player remaining, unless you count Artest, but there was no quit in the Rockets and they played a team game.

These Rockets have superstar James Harden and the shooters that are supposed to be able to execute Morey/Dan Tony's system.

This game will determine, regardless of the final series result, if these Rockets can even aspire to possess the heart of a champion.

 

Lose please, this dumb strategy of ours is getting on my nerves

 

well here we are. I figure no where to go but up. Win.

 

Huge. We will take this convincingly, because Spurs live off their obnoxious superiority complex to actually seek situations where they have to prove they can adjust.

Then things unravel on them and they lose three in a row before they know what hit them...just like OKC did last year, and others prior.

Gasol and Aldridge will play with no heart...and Pops nose will turn red again.

Shoot a mid range shot. Spurs can't handle our mid range shots.

 

Execute, rebound, hustle, make shots, play tight defense, play fast, play through contact, stay mentally tough against bad calls, pay refs more than spurs if need be.

Absolute must win.

 

James' body language will set the tone, if he's still not getting wistles it's a wrap.

 

If we're not winning at halftime I'm calling in a bomb threat.

 

If the Rox win, it will go 7 and be a coin toss. If the Rox lose, it's over in 5. I predict a Rox win. Game 7 will end with Bev hitting a dagger 3 to advance, followed by a kiss of death

 

Send Ryan Anderson to San Antonio. Tell him to get ready for game 5 so that I don't have to see him go 0-8 at home or something.

 

Obvious must win .

Keys

1) repeat performance from Clint ... Dude has shown major growth and his defensive presence won us game one ( IMO)

2) Smarter shot selection . We have to know what the defense is going to give us and take it decisively . Lou and Eric need to step up .

3) Either Anderson needs to grow a sack ; or we give Dekker a shot . We struggled vs OKC when they played more athletic lineups vs us ... Now that Dekker is healthy we have a chance to out-athlete the Spurs ... Which is a huge counter to both when they play small with Simmons and when they play 2 bigs ( LA and Gasol)

 

The series against OKC Rockets only show up starting late 3rd quarter. You will disrupt our rhythm and destroy our game plan!
Kidding aside, this is a must win! Harden must play well and our role players must step up!

 

How many fouls will Leonard have this game? Negative two?
