James Harden is on his way to leading the Rockets to multiple titles....and in the process joining/dethroning LBJ as the best in the game. The Beard has reached the level where he can put a team on his back and lead them to a title. He's been in the process of demonstrating this throughout the playoffs, but has had the ankle injury come up, followed by the tweaking/reinjuring...Still, in spite of the "tweaking", he was leading us back to a victory over the Spurs when the zebras took over. Before all is said and done, James will be on that VERY short list.
Easy there. He couldn't carry much in game 2. I'm assuming he was gimpy or sick. But I'm not ready to anoint a dynasty based on what I saw there. We'll see if tonight helps build my morale, or not.
He's shooting 38% from the field, 25% from 3 Averaging 5 turnovers with only 8 assist Over our 7 playoff games, that's pretty garbage. We won't get past the Spurs with our star shooting like Cory Brewer and turning it over like a mad man.
Not until James Harden accepts the role of secondary playmaker and moves off the ball and lets someone like Ricky Rubio be the primary ball handler to set him up _holic
Plowman knows basketball. Harden is still figuring out everything that he can do out there on the court. He is unbelievably created and gifted. If he stays healthy then watch out NBA...
Refreshing go see a positive post and from a poster who has the balls/courage to say this. Harden is truly special. i believe that harden, curry, lebron have the least amount of limits in the nba. Kawhi, durant, westbrook all seem more limited
I suspect after he breezes us through the first four championships, the league will just dissolve itself, realizing it's reached its zenith and should go out on top. The Naismith HOF will rename itself the Harden HOF in preparation for his induction. I see it.
You can make jokes all you want or treat this original post sarcastically but it deserves more than that. I get that people like to trivialize others because they are afraid to open up but plowman showed a lot of courage here. Harden just had the best offensive season in nba HISTORY. He has displayed tremendous heart, selflessness, and leadership this year. If you dont see it thats fine but harden is worth believing in. He has no limitations offensively
I just want to see him find more and more creative ways to get foul calls, and end up averaging 20 FTA per game next season, to see reddit r/nba and Pop's reaction...
I love Plowman's posts but this is a stretch. He may win a couple of championships(I really hope so) in Houston as a franchise player and that will be a huge achievement. Beyond that ... no.
It'd be great if he averaged like 18 ppg, 12 apg on like 3 fga's per game.... those 3 just being the and-1's that counted. I mean there's no way he'd get an MVP off that. No triple double average, and almost all of the points won't be real points because they come from the free throw line, which we know doesn't really count, especially in the playoffs!
Reg season tov% 19.5 Playoff tov% 16.7 He's improved his turnovers during the playoffs so far. Reg season FTr .575 Playoff FTr .613 He's increased his free throw attempts so far. So he's turning it over less, and drawing more fouls. 2 things constantly talked about around here that he needed to improve and/or wouldn't get in the playoffs. Yet here he is. Beating everyone's main critiques of him. He's in a slump shooting wise, due to injuries and sickness and thus his %s are down. Quick everybody jump ship, he's not as efficient anymore! I knew it! Fraud! I'd like his assists to go up, but like okc, they are guarding our shooters close limited the assists.
No one is saying jump ship. Is it a cause for concern that he ALWAYS shoots like **** in the playoffs? People who defend Harden as some infallible entity are starting to overwhelm the GARM and unfortunately popular opinion = objective fact on this board. James Harden has played like **** as a Rocket in the playoffs minus a few games where 'he was cokkin!'. THat somehow needs to change if OP wants his wish.
This is incorrect. He plays good in the playoffs consistently. He is consistently "good" and all the haters want "great", "phenomenal", "all-time performances". And when he doesn't? Meh, he always sucks in playoffs." first bad game? "OMG WTF Harden Sucks!" Game 1 was one of the best games I've witnessed him play in the playoffs every. His stats weren't world breaking and his efficiency wasn't godly. He sees the floor and reads the defense on a whole nother level now. Even when he is playing badly, like game 2, he is still playing at above average level. Mark my words. He will have a monster game and all the haters will respond "good about time. Now he needs to do this everytime, not just every once and a while" "he's too inconsistent and only has a good game here and there" The irony is he only has a bad game here and there and haters demand perfection.
