[Woj] Tony Parker Expected to Undergo Season Ending Surgery

Quad tendon tear is about as severe. He won't be playing basketball until the 2018-2019 season and he might not be half the player he was with that kind of lay-off. I don't think he will return.

Father Time is undefeated. If the Spurs advance without Parker they are likely swept by the Warriors. Rockets are the Wests' only shot at taking down the dubs.

 

Don't follow the spurs much but curious if he was ridden like a horse or one of the old guys that Pop loves to rest. Seems it didn't pay off if so.

Don't know if this helps the Rockets much but it does mean they stand little chance against the Warriors without him.

Incorrect. The most the team would be able to get back is the disabled player exception, which from memory is the same as the MLE. The contract stays on the books. Imagine if this wasnt the case: players like luol deng would be under incredible pressure to 'retire'.

 

Parker is a true warrior and I have much respect for him and what he's accomplished over his career and I wish him a speedy recovery.

That said, Rockets fans understand what it feels like to lose key players to injuries and we need to take advantage of the Spurs loss. We have no excuse for losing this series now, imo.

 

I think they're 12-4 this season with Parker out, so they can certainly win without him.

 

Tbh even Parker can play, Bev will still ball him every night.

Agree but in the playoffs so far Parker was tearing it up as their second best player in 8 games averaging 16 pts, 52% fg, 58% 3pt and 3 assists.

 

Never wish an injury on anyone but Parker's a douchebag and Paddy Mills is more dangerous if his peak form hits.
