We are currently 7-7 in Conf. Semi Finals series history

When winning the first game: 3-1 (only loss to the Lakers when Yao was injured)

Playing the Spurs in the playoffs all-time: 3-0 and we always won the first game

We have never lost a Conf Semi Final after being up 2-0. (Beat the Nuggets in 86)

All-time (all playoff series) We are 17-4 when we win the first game of a series

All-time (all playoff series) We are 9-2 when we win the first TWO games of a series

Spurs are currently 13-11 in Conf. Semi Finals series history

Spurs in the Conf Simi Finals are 1-7 after losing the first game of the series and 1-4 when trailing 0-2

Spurs are 6-22 All-time (all playoff series) when losing the first game of a series

Spurs are 1-12 All-time (all playoff series) when losing the first TWO games of a series

Spurs have never won the Conf Simi Finals after playing the Grizzlies in the first round. 0-3

Lastly, we are 7-2 ALL-TIME in the playoffs playing in San Antonio

Thanks for digging those up for perspective. Good stuff. I have a feeling the Rockets are just feeling pretty good right now. They've had an extended much needed rest and have healed up for the most part. This is just one game and we all know SA will not go down without a fight. Rockets (probably) won't be making 20+ 3s every game this series.

Having said all that, the Rockets have shown they know how to play the Spurs....even dating back to the regular season meetings. They know how to match up with them. This series will come down to the Rockets' ability to win the 50-50 balls to close the curtain on the Spurs. The Spurs had some fortune towards the end of their 3 regular season wins.

It's amazing how a more favorable matchup can completely change a fan's perception of a series. I was not feeling nearly as relaxed or confident during the OKC series. I expected the Rockets to win, but I was concerned that the series would go 6 or even 7 due to how much of a grind it was against their defense. Spurs will be the Spurs but this Rockets team gave us a glimpse last night of what they can be.........an absolute Beast in the playoffs. If all things go as planned, this 2017 Spurs squad just does not have it to overtake the 2017 Rockets. What the Rockets did to the Spurs last night is exactly how the Warriors have been making the rest of the league feel since they came on the scene......overwhelmed.

Cool stats to look at. Thanks for that.

It seemed like the guys definitely spent some of the time off between round 1 and round 2 working on their shots. I hope they keep it up. Hopefully they won't just feel like, "ok. we have it back now, we should be good" and then not keep working just as hard.

I don't expect that to happen because the team seems pretty focused and serious. If they can keep up the defense like they had last night and keep TOs low then they can really do well.
