I think rockets really need to go with the mentality that they have to win this.. the reason is Spurs are the best road win team and rockets are not the strongest home team; they have to try and steal this; anticipating that they may lose one at home

from their interviews I think they are. They sound like they got past the game 1 win and treating this one like they are the ones down 0-1. Good mentality to have.

All the players and D'antoni said the right things after taking game 1. They seem focused and not just happy with stealing homecourt already, it sounds like they want to take both. Hope we come out with the right energy and blow them out of the building. Give them no hope.

Funny I read in a BSPN mag, MDA stopped rocking the stache because he lost a bet to his wife and had to shave it.

I expect Pop to come out with a different line up. Benching Lee and starting Dedmond or one of the other athletic wings. The Spurs, more than anything, just looked too slow to close out on the Rockets' shooters.

Rockets need to keep their foot on the gas, look for the mismatches anytime Gasol, Lee, Aldridge or Ginobili are out on the perimeter and keep spreading the floor on open shots.

I also expect the Spurs to get much more physical with us this game.

You know you seem like a pretty level headed non-rocket fan. That's awesome.

By the way, how come Spursreport.com is no longer all that active with game posts? I remember several years back spursreport.com was the main forum for the Spurs

This. I don't want the Rockets to just eek out a "steal" of game 2 (although I wouldn't complain). I want them to convincingly smash them by 15-20. I would say 30-40 but I have to be realistic in the extreme unlikelihood of that happening.

I think this will be a tough game to win because the Spurs are who they are. FOCUS AND DEFENSE ROCKETS!!!

Doesn't playing physical wear down the team enacting it as well?

People Forget Popp had the greatest power forward of all time and a prime Parker, Gino Flopboli plus guys like Horry(one of the most clutch players ever) at his disposal against Mike and the Suns.. The difference between the two coaches is not that much. Mike was unlucky in NY and the Lakers where he got dealt a bad hand with the wrong players.

I hope they don't play Jon Simmons much. That guy matches up so well with our small ball.

I know, it seems that way right? But it turns out this year the Rockets have nearly equal home record to Spurs. Just one game difference. 31 wins to our 30.

And another way to look at it is we've now beaten them twice on the road, and we have 3rd best road record in the NBA. So, no reason to think Spurs win 3 straight at home, even if they hold serve today, and steal one in Houston.

OKC beat Spurs twice in SA last conf semifinals.

I am a realist...I want the Spurs to win but I have recognized for a long time that this team is too flawed to win a championship this season.... will they make this a series? I hope they do... but you can't change who you are in May..

oh and we live in Golden State's world as of now.. no disrespect to the Rockets but they, along with the Spurs, have no chance to beat the W's... this season

The Warriors are definitely another animal the NBA has never seen. I watched a little of the Jazz-Warriors game last night....and the Warriors are just so FAST and crisp and overwhelmingly good compared to the rest of the NBA. Hate to say it...but that Warriors team is truly UNFAIR and not good for the NBA in general. Even when MJ's Bulls dominated, he was just one guy with a great cast. But the Warriors are a video-game assembled team.......takes the fun out of the NBA in some ways for me.

What happened to the Spurs Report website? Do Spurs fans still use that as the main forum?

I don't care if they win by one or fifty. A win is a win and they'd be up 2-0.
