This reply paints a very clear picture of why nobody respects you or takes anything you say serious around here.

First of all you write too much, you should learn to synthesize your ideas and write straight to the point arguments instead of long a$$ rants, less is more.

Second you lie. You say dumb $hit and then change the narrative, claim that you are being taken out of context, etc. or simply flat out lie.

Last but not least, you talk down to people. I believe you have to respect to be respected. Unfortunately for you, you seem to be so full of yourself that whenever somebody argues against you you very quickly resort to insults, which only results in the other person replying back in the same manner, just like i just did.

This is a big community of Rocket fans, and most of them seem to be against you, in one way or another. Maybe, just maybe, you should consider that you might be doing something wrong, no? Anyway............................. YULE C

Durant would have come here to play with Dwight. Dwight of all people that Durant has zero respect for and openly called a p***y. HAHAHA

I normally would agree and have preached as much for the past 15 years on this board (I had a different incarnation before). You need multiple stars.

But dive into the rationale - why do you need multiple stars in the NBA? The answer is actually quite simple - double teams. Double teams can limit the effectiveness of any great player and thus make weaker players beat you. You can't do that when you have a Kyrie to a Lebron, or a Durant & Klay to a Curry (or is it a Curry and Klay to a Durant?). It's why the Spurs can't win without a Duncan and Parker peaking - because a Kawaii and no one else doesn't work. You need two stars near or at their peak right? That's been the case since 1994. Since then every champion has had at least 2 stars. Even the Pistons had Rasheed, Rip, and Billups.

So by that standard, we have no shot at being a contender. Except there is something different about this team. You're right - Ariza doesn't score 20 points consistently enough. But look at the box scores of the Thunder series. You had Nene getting 28 one game. And you had Williams and Gordon combining for 36+ points every game. Not to mention Ryan Anderson hitting double digits and Ariza having a few games hitting double digits.

This team scores 115 when it STRUGGLES and still wins.

Scoring is not our problem. Defense and Turnovers have been the issue. If Ariza scored 0 points last night, we would have still won by 7! That's because we played D and only coughed the ball up 14 times (which is ok for a Rockets team).

If we can play defense consistently - (that shouldn't be a big if), and we can cut down on the turnovers (that is a big if) then we have a shot at beating GS.

People will say - how can you beat the Warriors with all that fire power? The answer is when you have a unique offense that is designed to win by creating open 3 pointers and layups. An offense that is orchestrated by one of the greatest offensive weapons in the history of basketball - the truest of triple threat players. Except he's a quadruple threat player. Have you ever had a player who lead the league in assists and free throws, 2nd in points who was one of the top jump shooters in the league and one of the top finishers at the basket? Ft's, 3's, layups, and assists. Harden is a quadruple threat player.

And he gets to pass to Ryan Anderson, Trevor Ariza, Eric Gordon, Lou Williams, and Beverley for high % triples and to Capela for alley oop dunks and Nene who is an extremely gifted finisher as a big man. And What team has these many weapons other than Golden State?

If the Warriors are clicking - they might be the greatest team ever assembled - and no one can beat them. But one thing about basketball, no matter how many stars you have on a team, there's only one ball. And when you have an unselfish superstar like Harden - who clearly is bought into the system and is more than happy to score 20 points and 14 assists - that means there's a lot more shots for the rest of the team to feast on.

When you take lots of firepower and combine it with defense and a lot of chemistry, orchestrated by one of the greatest conductors in a player I've ever seen - you won't be the favorite to beat the Warriors, but no one will be completely stunned if it happens either.

Thankfully, not every team in the league has Steven Adams starting at C. Capela was awful most of that series, though at least he was able to stay engaged on defense and try hard.

The Spurs sure as hell don't have Adams at C. Not surprised at all to see him step it up more.

Still, doesn't change that he has zero shooting range outside of 5 feet, thus putting a ceiling on what the Rockets' offense can accomplish.

Capela is a beast - he is developing very fast and is what, all of 21 years old...yeah he is fine.

Ha. No, he wouldn't have come here to play with Dwight. He would've signed for Dwight money that we gave to Anderson/Gordon. And we could've still signed Gordon. Are you really this dense?

Gotcha. So we'd have used Dwight and Harden to get us 56 wins and then dump Dwight to sign Durant.

What other hot takes you got today? Maybe we could have dumped Trevor and Bev for Paul George too?

    Wait wait wait.

Is b_allholic suggesting that he has inside info that Harden was the reason Durant didn't sign here?

Out of the million things in this thread, that for sure deserves its own thread.
