Trump: Andrew Jackson hated the Civil War. Despite being dead at the time.

President Trump, the most intellectually gifted president in history, just another feather on the cap.

 

I hope Trump supporters on this message board have enough dignity and pride in themselves as individuals to not believe that this man is actually more intelligent than them.

He legitimately might actually have an IQ below the national average.

 

Anyone who does not yet realize nor accept that our resident is an ignorant buffoon probably voted for him.

 

What's worse is the Trump Surrogates getting ordered to come on CNN, FOX, etc. today to debate that the left is trying to paint Trump and his base as racists, and trying to actually downplay the role of slavery in the Civil War JUST TO PROTECT TRUMP's fascination with Andrew Jackson a slave owner who would have had no indication of being on the right side of history had he actually BEEN ALIVE during the Civil War.

The fact that Trump obviously didn't know that Jackson wasn't alive during the Civil War is laughable but not offensive on its base. Its the praise of Jackson as some sort of made up Civil Rights Champion during the Civil War as an offensive re-writing of our Nations History. Trying to bleach out the parts of our history that don't look so nice in high school history books.

You want to look at Jackson's great history of human and civil rights... go read up on the "Trail of Tears" before Trump tries to rewrite that part of history too.

I just love how it's generally accepted that the president of the United States usually has immense nuanced knowledge in US history thus journalists and intrigued historians ask presidents about their opinion on certain historical subjects because they might have some great insight... now they have to ask these type of questions to Donald freaking Trump.

It produces nothing but pure comedy gold along with a uneasy notion that someone like that can be elected to manage the world's largest bureaucracy.

I am fairly certain that Donald Trump learned his history from Rush Limbaugh's books for children.

 

I doubt he has the attention span to read an entire book out of his own curiosity.

 

Personally, I enjoyed the part about Jackson's "big heart"

Change 'the Civil War' to 'a civil war' and his comment is not that far off based. But who knew Andrew Jackson went through a similar situation as Lincoln and was able to delay the War of Northern Aggression? This information was the highlight of my US history class and it seems everyone is more knowledgeable than the story of the Alamo.

But yes, Trump should STFU if he can't enunciate himself properly.
