[Cringe] "My Sex Junk" from Bill Nye Saves the World

That show is unwatchable - how do things like this get the green light?

 

I thought Bill Nye was a show about encouraging scientific curiosity for the next generation.

What is this. Lol.
I don't remember watching this in Jr. High science classes!

 

This will be the first Trump campaign ad of 2020. I cringed the whole way through.

 

"I'm an atheist, but I'm gonna go to church more often. I can't support this."

I haven't watched the show. That's too bad if the show's (or viewer's) politics is getting in the way of its presentation of the science. Its not that science and politics are operating on totally separate spheres -- sometimes some political positions are objectively better supported by science than others. But where they collide, the science communicator should go to great lengths to distinguish where the science ends and politics begins. It seems he's not doing that effectively.

 

There is no mention of gender in that video.

 

I watched an episode when my wife turned it on. The politics does get annoying. Plus I hate the audience. The audience claps and is amused at anything Bill does.

Bill should focus on the science instead of appeasing the peanut crowd.

That's a shame. Bill Nye was great when he was just a goofy guy having fun trying to get kids interested in cool science stuff. Not sure how he became the posterboy for the anti-anti-science crowd. We need a better spokesman.
