What would it take to bring DeMarcus Cousins to Houston

At the very least, it's a bad look. Can't be walking around wearing shorts from a division rival. Can you imagine if Harden was walking around with Pelicans shorts in the off season?

I dont know about yall but if we got an actual chance at him, Id be all over it. Hes not just a post up guy, the dude can roll and hit 3s if need be. Hes the most versatile big guy there is in the league. Hell, hes a good enough passer to play off of him at the top of the key ala Marc Gasol.

Boogie doesn't post up that much though, i don't have the numbers right now but i wouldn't be shocked if he takes already more outside shoots than in the paint lol

 

Future inflexibility is what it would take. You want Cousins you have to dismantle the salaries of the lethal outside shooting combo guards and forwards (Williams, Gordon, & Anderson). Let's wait and look at how far the Nene/Capela combo can take this team in the Playoffs first. Nene is on a roll and might hold down the 5 all the way to a championship...

 

If Cousins expresses a desire to play for the Rockets, we would be crazy not to do anything possible to get him.

Playing for a winning team, a playoff contender would do wonders to his psyche.

With Harden setting him up, Cousins could easily average 25 to 30 points a game.

We would have the ultimate inside / outside game to beat a Warriors team that has been nothing short of a menace for us.

If available, Morey needs to figure out how to get this dude in a Rocket jersey.

The inside outside combo simply isn't enough in today's game. Cousins would get complacent without the other outside shooters/defenders, that are now gone to clear cap space for him, knocking down shots and guarding the perimeter to whatever degree. But to retain those pieces, Beverly/Ariza would be gone and you know Beverly is the heart of this team and so is Ariza's perimeter nuisance.

 

Its a bad fit. Harden fits better with athletic bigs who know their limitations, block shots and rebound

Highly doubt the Pelicans got Magic'd, pretty sure he plays out his contract with New Orleans, might re-sign as well.

That being said if we can get him, you definitely go for it. Dude is a lunatic but is still a supreme talent, you trade for him just for the chance he pans out.

 

Cousins is such a great talent, but he seems like such a headache to deal with. His constant outbursts and lack of self-control could suck the life out of a locker room.

Idk why he would be wearing another team's gear while still under contract with his team...he has to know that that would bring unwarranted attention
