"YOU were the one that got me fouled out of the 2000 Olympics. hehe." "You... you still remember?!..." "It's alright, man. I don't carry grudges." Not terribly funny. And that don't look terribly like Rudy T either. But what the hell...
now, everyone go to the chinaYao forums and post in english. askin them that if they are going to come to clutchfans and post, please post in english. also ask them not to steal articles like that time last year, and also just quit it. I love chinese. it is a beutifull language, but those characters look insane on my monitor.
Yao: "You must feed the post. Give me the damn ball." JVG: "If you build good position, the ball will come." Yao: "You must tell the team to fockass!"
Great pics, Yssen !!! I really enjoyed. I don't have chinese input method. Otherwise, I will be writing back in chinese. Now, to dragon167. Shut the f**k up!!! People have the right to communicate in languages they are comfortable with. This country is called US of America, but lots of people speak f***ing "English". The problem with Chinese is not the we don't give other people enough respect, but that we are too humble. Just like the problem Yao is facing. While NBA put spotlight on Yao's fault/"virture" of humility, we should all look for confidence/self-esteem in ourselves. The world only respect confident people. dragon167, you are trying to detroy little confidence left with us. So F**k Off. I hope you speak chinese with your kids.
Wrong wrong wrong wrong... this BBS is nto a democracy, you cant just do whatever you feel like. It is a English speaking BBS, and last time I heard, the moderators do not want half the people posting in foreign languages. Even if you dont feel the need to repect the other posters, you had better repect the moderator's wishes. Read around and get a feel for the community before you come in here and open your mouth and make yourself look like a fool.
Why couldn't there have been a 7'6" dominant center from Italy? At least then we could plug all these posts into Babelfish or something...
Patcher use NJ Star (free download i think) if you want to input Chinese but be courteous and do it on a Chinese bbs. The moderator and majority of people on here speaks english and speaking in a different language on the board freezes out 80 +% of the people here that don't speak the language. This has nothing to do with being humble but rather having a good mannered and well raised. Or in Chinese, with Jia Jiao.
This is a special message for Eddie Griffin explaining why he hasn't shown up at Rockets practice....

Well even in a democracy you have to respect the rights of the minority. Unless Clutch declares an official language here, then all users should be able to communicate in whatever language. I mean, those of you who are annoyed by funky characters you can't understand, if you see a thread name like that... don't go in! I mean it will only further piss you off. This BBS is truly awesome, Rockets fans across the globe can come and post, let just respect everyone's rights here. Man I feel like there's a civil war starting on the BBS recently...
Oh btw, if anyone cares: Cartoon 1: Yao: remember you fouled me out of the olympics in 2000 Rudy: what? you still remember? Yao: it's okay, I don't have grudges Cartoon 2: Yao: see? I'm pretty awesome aren't I? <referring to the wall he's broken down, which is labeled "Sino-US relations barrier"> Cartoon 3: was actually self explanitory, the two characters are Yao's name. Cartoon 4: Yao's jumping up and down saying "I can finally get on the court and play basketball now!!" the sign reads "Yao Ming four years ago" possibly refers to the fact that Yao came into his own from under the shadow of Wang Zhizhi around then. I mean these cartoons aren't that great. I'll post one if I find a good one and don't worry, I'll write the captions first.
I don't personally have a problem with people posting things like this in Chinese, but I think most people would appreciate it if someone who spoke both Chinese and English well could translate for the rest of us. Many people have translated articles from the Chinese media in the past, and it's been a nice addition to the BBS in my opinion. As far as asking people to write their posts in English, understand that Chinese posters are not being singled out. In the past, people have posted in Spanish, for example, and they were also asked to post in English. I don't know if it's an "official policy" of the BBS, but it is definitely a policy in the chatroom. I would assume it extends to the discussion forum.
but see, that is the point you and the other guy arent getting.. it isnt a matter of pissing me off...I know how to avoid threads I dont want to read..but yall are doing something that is already been discussed in here, I seem to recall that someone(i dont remember exactly right now) has already taken a position on this in the past. this isnt the first time this has come up.. and if I remember correctly, th word from upstairs was that there is a BBS where you can go and speak Chinese.....but it aint this one. If one of the mods would be so kind to speakup on this, it would be appreciated.
I've always looked at it like this, when in a public forum such as this bbs , try to speak in a manner most people would understand as not to freeze others out of conversation. To me that's just common courtesy. You can have a couple of comments in another language but try to be conscious of it. I really don't think it is a rule (though I think I've seen moderators frowning down on this) but more of common courtesy.
I'd agree with all this. We have people now who can contribute but don't speak English. Fortunately, there are many people who can translate. So, if those who speak Chinese would be so kind as to help out their fellow man with a translation then I think everything is cool. It'll be a problem if people start talking with one another without translations.
Hi patcher, Thanks for your kind words. You are really appreciated. I wont argue with u which language should be used here as other posters above have expressed many valuable opinions. But I have to apologise for destroying your little confidence left with u. I just didnt note that speak chinese in an engish forum would make someone feel confident. Please accept my apology. I also finally understand the mindset of some people who live in foreign countries for years but never learn local languages. I certainly would speak chinese with my kids in our PRIVATE conversation. But we would certainly try our best to speak local language if we are having a discussion with a group of foreigners. It has nothing to do with confidence/self-esteem, it's about respect/courtesy. Patcher, be a confident kid with courtesy.
hey dude, i don't mean to disrespect you man, i respect your opinions and the fact that you have roughly 100X more posts than me. however, this isn't the Rocks vs. Nets game thread -- if somebody started typing in Chinese in there yeah that would be a problem, but the fact is that this thread name is in Chinese, and if someone who doesn't speak chinese doesn't want to be confused then they can not come in. you know what i'm saying?
