I'm not going to research to confirm this, but the Tampa guys said Gregerson had the highest swing & miss percentage in MLB last season. That certainly surprised me.
I don't recall a quarter of his pitches staying in the zone. It's insane how easy he makes it look sometimes.
I know every game is 9 innings. But wow. We are such a tough team to beat in a full 9 inning game. Y'all feel same way ?
Comprehensive list of every Astros hitter below average (runs created plus) so far this season: Correa. I'm sure he will turn it around. That is a nice balanced team so far.
Avoid four guys struggling at once, we'll be good. Let's keep Snell under 6 IP today.. lefty be damned.
Snell has had a ton of trouble going more than 6 innings in his brief MLB career. Command has always been his issue. He has good stuff, but if we can work the count and stay patient I'll feel pretty good about our chances.
I have defended Gregerson a lot at times in each of the last 2 years. When he has a rough game or 3, it feels like half the forum is done with him--even if those are the only bad games of the season.
Love Gregerson as a set-up guy. One of the best in baseball. I thought he was a mediocre closer... granted, Giles hasn't run away with the job, but the Astros were right to attempt to upgrade the position (and still may have an upgrade in the long run....Giles has done some good things this year, even better in save situations).
