Why are people on a Rockets forum hating on the Rockets with so much regularity? GTFO.

"Nope" uh yeah bro. It's a foul. Been called 300 times this season. How the **** you figure it's offense? Or even non-shooting?

GSW uses their screens to a different advantage...and it's never called foul.

I've said before and here to say again, besides being a great, smart and crafty player the thing that makes it so deadly for James is that he's left handed. Coming around the usual pick, defenders are usually reaching out and hand fighting with a player's off-hand...against James you're reaching out and grabbing his shooting hand. You reach/he teach. It really emphasizes the predicament his ability puts teams in. You go under the pick and leave him room to shoot or drive. You go over the pick he hits you with a lob to Capela as the big is forced to step up and stop his drive. You fight through the pick and he baits you into fouling. You're just in a bad position because he can shoot, he can drive, he can dish and he's smart and quick enough to catch you slipping.

    It's called being great.

First off, I like Harden's game aside from when he looks too much for fouls rather than actually trying to hit a shot. He takes advantage of how referees call the game so I don't blame him. They are taking advantage of the referees, clearly. You think they call most of this in a regular league? No. Let me break it down:

When a defensive player sticks his hand out followed by the offensive player hooking him and going up for the shot. This usually results in FTs while it should be an offensive foul. In the case of an offensive player just going up when the arm is already there, it's a non-call or should be offensive since you are initiating contact. However, there are times when they get the offensive player on his hip or truly reach in, get into the cilinder (protective bubble that a defender has), which will be a clear defensive foul regardless. This is why I said 90% of the time, though it's probably less. In this case you could argue for shooting foul or non-shooting.

I agree. No matter what the rule is harden will get guys to foul him in a shooting motion.

U need to get in compromising positions and reach on harden. Thats better than letting him hit open 3s or take it to the rim for layups. He is really really hard to guard lol

what you are saying pretty much is there are times when going up for a shot is not allowed by the ball handler. OK that makes a total sense. from now on NBA defenses should just stick out their hands in front of the ball handler every time he gets room to shoot it all 24 seconds. they are never allowed to go up for a shot when the defense sticks out their hands even though they are at a disadvantage otherwise it's an offensive foul.

Vs OKC we'll get 90% of the calls.

Vs Spurs we'll get 70% of the calls.

Vs GSW we'll get 0% of the calls.

Do you see where I'm going with this?

If you don't, check out coastal.com, they have very nice prescription glasses.

*****TLDR: We are screwed for the next 5 years with GSW's roster.

Silly...you know the difference and understand what I'm saying, but carry on since it's 'cool' to crap on the unpopular opinion.

Clearly the Thunder needed help after game 1.

So we giving it to them by jinxing our team in every category that we can.

One thing we need to remember that we are still at our home court. When it goes to OKC, it might change a lot. Russ might get every call when a Rocket touches him.

What calls are your Mavs getting? The only calls Mavs are getting are from the Mavs season ticket holders who claim to have been ripped off

there's a difference between fighting over a pick, and putting your hands on the guy dribbling the ball to slow his progress around that pick. can't grab the guy then get mad when he rises up to shoot and catches your arms.

One game doesn't define this series or the next, but hopefully Adam Silver is out there telling the refs, "Just call the fouls you see, make the calls you see and don't worry about anything else. The game trumps the player."

I don't think we need any beneficial calls to win it all, we just need refs that will let us take our chance.

yes you need all the help you can get to win it in NBA(SEE UNDER GSW 2015)...there's no such thing as fair officiating...its impossible to officiate 100% correctly and those few calls they make wrong often make all the difference in the world...(5-10 points swing, not counting MOMENTUM!)

See the difference between the first non-foul and no call vs. the 2nd one?
