This man has been in the league for quite some time now. What has he done? he has a career average of 16.0 ppg. Didnt Rudy coached an All-Star game? why didnt he select cassell on his All- star roster.

NBA coaches don't choose the all stars I thought it was only baseball.

Correct, but ALL of the coaches in the league, not just the coach that is going to coach his respective conference allstars.

I've always been a big Cassell fan, but there are a few reasons he's never been an all star.

    1) He's never been the main option on his team: In Houston, he came off the bench, in New Jersey he was overshadowed by Kendal Gill, Kerry Kittles, and Keith Van Horn, Milwaukee had Robinson and Allen, and now there's KG and Spree in Minnesota.

    2) Guard depth: There are just so many great guards in the NBA these days, and the NBA doesn't distinguish between point guard and shooting guard in the All Star Game. In the East, he had to compete with Kidd, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Reggie Miller, Vince Carter, McGrady, Baron Davis, Allen Houston, and Iverson. Now that he's in the West, there's Payton, Francis, Nash, Finley, Kobe, Marbury, Ray Allen (again!), and Andre Miller. Unless he can become the main scoring option on the team, there are just too much competition.

Cassell has been all star caliber, he's just always been in the wrong place at the wrong time....well, except for his first two seasons in the league...

Sammy is the man, but not likely to ever be named Sammy All Star Man.

    Too bad.

he's a great player, but there have always been better players in front of him... the fact that he has played for so many teams doesn't help either.

Figured I should make an appearance in this thread. Sammy's been robbed a couple times, and then too there are lot of great guards in the league (as A-Train said). His job this season is to get the TWolves past the first round, though, not to win individual accolades.

Never. There's too many better PG's, but he's alright. He doesn't really play much like a PG though.

Eddie Johnson also never made the allstar team. I think he has scored the most points ever in the NBA and for not making a allstar team/

    All-Star cancer.

Cassell sucks, plain and simple. He's always whining about one thing or another. He spends more time b****ing than playing defense. He also likes to dribble the ball for 20 seconds a possesion.

He will be why the T'Wolves don't do more than win 50 games. He's just a headache who isn't worth the trouble.
